FI and I are trying to nail down our wedding location. We have gotten it down to 2 options - Dreams Tulum or Ana Y Jose Beach Club.

I am leaning toward Ana Y Jose because there is so much character at the Beach Club that I absolutely love, however, my REALLY BIG concern is that if it rains the day of our wedding, we will be absolutely screwed. They don't have very good rain options. Dreams Tulum has the new conference center, and overall has much better rainy day options.

We are shooting for a July 25 2009 wedding, and my question is how much is rain a concern in July? I've actually been to Cancun twice in July, and I'm kicking myself for not paying attention to what the weather was like. I just remember that there was definitely lots of sunshine, but there also was some rain. I've looked online at weather.com and such, but I'm getting conflicting information

Bottom line, rain = Dreams Tulum and shine = Ana Y Jose. What do I choose??

I'm not too much help but I've been having the same concerns so I wanted to add some thoughts. I've been to Cancun in June and there were short 20 minute thunderstorms in the afternoons a few days. I've been to Playa del Carmen in Feb which is supposedly a nicer month, but it rained and was cold the entire time. I also went to Playa in July one year and it was beautiful the entire time. You just can't predict the weather.

I personally would go for a venue that has an indoor back up that you are happy with just in case (and for peace of mind more than anything!). So many people have said great things about Dreams Tulum. My wedding is set for Oct of 2009 and I was really stressing about the weather. My fiance and I just decided to go with somewhere that had a rain back up we were okay with. There's always a chance that it may rain no matter what time of year you go, so we are trying to keep a positive mind set and decided we will have a good time despite what the weather may bring!

Well, you could chance it but it would be devistating if it was raining like hell on your big day, and you were stuck with no back-up plan. sad.gif Despite the month you get married, there's always a chance for rain. I would personally go with the hotel that had a great back-up plan for rain, that way you don't have to ever stress about it! :)

when i stayed at dreams tulum in july (last month), it rained every day for 20 minutes between 4-6pm...so weird. the weddings that were scheduled just waited out the short shower each time and proceeded with their outdoor ceremony/reception.

i'm a future dreams tulum bride, but if costs were equal, we would have gone with ana y jose...

is having a tent on standby an option at ana y jose?
