Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies.

I am bringing silk flowers for my wedding, saved a ton of money! I was talking with one of my bridesmaids last night and I think we are going to make our centerpieces. Check things out from the dollarstore and whatnot. Found some nice ideas on DIY wedding bride websites.

Alison - I am considering ordering a guest book off Etsy. Have you searched on that site before? Here is a cool one that you can get personalized.

Hey Ladies!

We leave in 6 days! EEEEE!

Allie, You can change any of those bouquets to whatever colour arrangement you want. Can even request to change the type of flower. I wanted all white basically, and asked for specific flowers. Be aware though, i was told ONE orchid was $25 extra (i wanted them in my centerpieces, before deciding to go with silk flowers) so if you want those in your bouquet, itll be pricier.

Also, we order my finacee's suit from Studio Suits. We procrastinated for a long time, and my guy is 6'5" so we had a very hard time finding a nice suit, that would fit him, that wasn't $500 plus.

Anyway, we decided to just go with the online place, and risk it, and it was PERFECT. It fits him SO well, its amazing. and it was only $199, linen, shipped to the door. the BEST PART is we got it in ONE WEEK! lol. We told them it was for a wedding, we needed it rushed (cause if it didnt fit, we had to buy the expensive suit and get it ordered etc so we needed at least 4 weeks) and it was at our door in 6 days. It was unbelievable!!!! AND, we couldn't be happier with the quality and workmanship. We are going to order him more suits from there, just to have!

Now, this is our experience - so hopefully yours will be the same!

604bride2be - yay you must be so excited!!! Thanks for the info on the flowers/bouquets, I was hoping that it would be easy to switch colours. I think I am going to order my FI and suit from studio suits this week. We are just going to go with the preset sizes and just get alterations done here if need be. Great to hear that your FI's suit turned out so well.

Safe travels and have an amazing wedding. Pop back in here when you get back and let us know how it went!

MsWalters - Welcome to the forum!!! It really is a big help!!  And don't worry about not being organized... I leave in 2.5 weeks and I'm not even close to organized! Lol

Amanda - OMG I LOVE that guestbook!! I think I just may have to steal your idea! Hope you don't mind! That is exactly what I was looking for  :-)   How long would that take to get to me though? Do you know??

604 - You must be SO excited! Have a wonderful time! And I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! :)  Glad to hear your FI's suit fits him well, that must be such a huge relief!

Ashley - congrats on booking your date! :)  Would be happy to help you with anything you need (if I know the answers of course)

Are any of you doing a bachelorette party while you are there?? My MoH reaallllyyyy wants me to have one, but my overprotective parents and fiance don't want just us girls leaving the resort. So, we are thinking of having the girls AND guys all go out to Coco Bongo's together one night, and then us girls will have a beach day around the resort somewhere. Maybe just play drinking games by the pool or something.

Coco Bongo's is an absolute BLAST by the way, if any of you have never been there! Best to reserve a table though, otherwise you are shit outta luck! ;)

Thank you! After reading all of your posts.. you girls are making me very nervous about not having too much done.  Our biggest concern is that we want a dinner on or close to the beach after our ceremony.  Are any of you doing that or have you done that?  I also haven't even thought about center pieces/ribbons for chairs/ welcome kits for guests.  I think we're going to have about 40 people coming.. invites are going out next week and then we'll get a better idea.  Has anyone not gotten married in gazebo and chosen to get married on the beach instead?

Allison - Don't worry about using the guestbook idea! Send the seller a link and explain that you need is ASAP - I am sure they can make it happen! Did you get my song list on facebook? I am not having a bachlorette down there. My friends are having one for my in a few weeks. I have heard mixed reviews about Coco Bongos. We are spending $100.00 to go swim with the dolpins so I don't think any of us can afford the $100.00 on Coco Bongos!

Ashley - Don't worry, you have lots of time. You can have your receiption on the beach, all you have to do is ask your wedding coordinator. The resort has bows for the chairs for $6.00 a bow. I am planning on making my own centerpieces. I will send you a pic when I have an idea of what I am doing. The centerpieces are the resort are SO expensive, I think around $75.00 each!
