Cabo Riu Palace Questions

Recommended Posts

shots.gif Hi Ladies:

So I am working on my budget and I had some questions-- I know that the private reception is additional monies ($500.00?) and that the appetizers are $8.00/per person and the booze is $10.00/hour/person. My questions is once you pay for the private party - does that include the dinner or are there additional costs? Also, if you decided to have the dinner in one of the restaurants, do they have private rooms or a private terrace or anything so that it would be some what private? And then you couldn't have a dj? I am obviously confused but trying to see where our money is going to go. We are expecting it to be 20-22 of us for the wedding.

Hi Toby

It depends were you are having the private party. If you have it at the beach I believe the food is extra. I am having mine at the Mexican restuarant on the terrace. The terrace is outside and they close it off for you and your guests. It holds 35 comfortably so I have been told. You can have a DJ (extra $ of course!) We are just bring our IPOD and portable speaker system instead. Another place to have a private party is in the courtyard. This is nice but it looks too big we are having 30 people. Honstly the Mexican terrace looks really cute and intimate when its all set up. They hang lights and put candles all around. Hope this helps! I amy have some pics if you want to PM me

Hey Tobi
Yes you do have to pay 500 for the mexican terrance its a private reception. This includes the dinner unlike the beach which is extra. It also includes wine, beer, water and soda with dinner. If you want different drinks than yes its 10 per person per hour. I am not paying for the open bar. I think it a friggen rip off, its all inclusive. If my guests want something else then they will have to go inside the restuarant to the main bar. I know its kind of cheap but it saves alot of $. We are bringing our own champage for a toast at the beginning and honestly most of my guests will drink wine and beer anyways.

Thanks again - from now on when people ask who my wedding planner is at Riu I am gonna say Sarah...lol...

(** what a total rip-off...i am gonna address that issue with the hotel - I understand on the beach the additional cost to bring the booze down there - but the wait staff has to come in and out of the same bar to give us the beer etc so whats the big deal....)

I definatately don't like the idea of paying extra for an open bar! I'm pretty sure that most of my guests will be drinking beer & wine anyway but I still want the option of getting mixed drinks & fancy cocktails. Do you think the hotel will be able to do anything about this?

You have to pay for the open bar if you want those drinks
