No way, that is crazy! You must only weigh like 17 pounds already or something! I would try the math again.

That can't be right ladies. If you did the calculation right and you still only get 500 calories, you should implement exercise (cardio) into your weight loss program so you can eat more.

If you would like me to help you out, send me a PM or email.

BMR Calculator

This calculator does not provide for exercise, but it'll give you an idea about whether or not you are close. I put in my information (5'6", 137 pounds, 34 years) and got 1,400 calories per day.

1,400 * 7 = 9,800 calories per week.

9,800 - 3,500 (to lose 1 pound per week) = 6,300 calories.

6,300 / 7 = 900 calories.

This is about right since I eat about 1,000 calories per day when I am trying to lose weight.

This calculation has always worked for me so I wanted to suggest it to you all. I think the hardest part of developing a personal diet and weight loss program is developing a long term healthy program that allows you to lose weight without being miserable and starving yourself. If you can figure out how much you can eat to maintain, you will then be able to figure out how much you can eat and lose. It's not easy, but once you figure it out, dieting will be so much easier for you. Your BMR is a good place to start.
