BVI? who has been there? need info :)

I just did a bunch of different searches and only found 1 or 2 posts about BVI.

 

My MOH may be having a destination wedding (EXCITING!) in 2009 and told me last night they are considering BVI - i want to try to help her and obviously since my wedding is in 3 weeks i need another project to come back to LOL!

The Virgin Islands are beautiful! St.John is really nice, but definitely look in to a day trip to Jost Van Dyke!

I just got back from St. John 2 days ago and took a trip to Jost Van Dyke. It's my favorite place on earth!!! Alys, look into Jost, you won't be disappointed!

I sailed around BVI last March and LOVED it! I think my cousin went to a wedding on St. John but we only stopped there (at a beautiful restaurant called the Equator!) Like others said, Jost van Dyke is very fun but beware of travel books that suggest that you "must see" the Bitter End and some cave thing as they are both built up tourist traps. It sounds like there are a few of us on the forum that can help out, so let us know when you get to seriously searching. Best wishes for YOUR wedding, too!

I love the BVI!! I've been to both Tortola and Virgin Gorda, the two main islands. On Tortola there are several wonderful hotels and condos to rent as well as some awesome villas that have multiple bedrooms, pools, maids, cooks, etc. On Virgin Gorda, you have The Baths, a place where it looks like a giant tossed up huge room-sized boulders which have made shallow pools filled with tropical fish, grottos, secluded areas, etc. In general the BVI is more laid back than many other islands, not having casinos nor huge hotels. Very intimate and beautiful!
