This thread is really helpful! I sent our STD's today, so that's 10 mo's in advance. We were thinking of sending the invites in Oct which would be 7 mo's in advance w/ a reply-date of 2 mo's before.

We are sending our invites out this month and our wedding is in June 2010 as well. Its stinks because you need to get the booking info out but we are having a reception back home and that is almost a year away. Seven months def is enough time the earlier the better

Thanks so much for everyone's input. Do you think if I am getting married at the end of June, It's too early to ask them to rsvp by Jan or Feb? Or should I wait till March or april to have them rsvp? Our wedding Date is July 2, 2010

Our wedding is early Sept so we sent out the invites by mid-April and asked for RSVP's by 5/31. We still had a few stragglers that did not rsvp until after that date, but we felt that they weren't officially RSVP'ed until they bought their tickets, even if we got the card back. We had most everyone booked by 5/31, 6 more booked by 6/30, and now we're just waiting on 2 more who have verbally said yes, but never returned the card and every time I ask if they bought their airfare, they keeps saying they will soon. But those 2 are my cousin and his wife who are coordinating with his sister and her husband to tour together after the wedding so I'm pretty sure they are definites. They're just really bad procrastinators. It will be interesting to hear how much it ends up costing them by waiting...

Our wedding is in early February and our message in the bottle invites are going out this week. A little early but we just started making wedding plans and didn't feel like there was time for a STD and the formal invite.

We did email close friends and family with the travel info as soon as we booked so they could have time to make plans.

We are getting married May 2010. We sent out our STD's at the beginning of June so about 11 months in advance. Then we are going to be sending out our invitations Oct/Nov so about 7 months in advance with a rsvp deadline of 2 mos before our wedding. We have already had people start looking into booking just from our STD's so we didn't want to send out the invites too soon after our STD's.

Since I decided not to send out Save the Dates, I will be sending out formal invitations by the end of August 2009 for our wedding in May 2010 (about 9 1/2 months in advance). Now, here is what is strange....I asked my travel agent this very question and she said that I should have the end of November printed as my RSVP date. I don't know if this has to do with Sandals payments policy (ie. the full amount of accomodation costs have to be paid by the end of March for a mid-May wedding), but she said anything later than that would not give guests adequate time to plan for the added expense of attending a DW (referring to the dismal state of the economy right now).

Anyway, that's what we're doing....good luck to all! wink.gif
