Paying For Photog Up Front Cash?!?!?!

Hey guys I am leaving very soon and just found out from my photog that I will need to pay in full 3000.00 in cash there. That is A LOT of cash to carry and makes me very nervous, especially since you dont get pictures for 4 weeks after.....Did everyone else do this?

I know my photog is known around here and does amazing work (Claudia Rodriguez)....still 3g's for photog alone is a lot to carry and thats not including cash for ANYTHING else! You would think that it would be a little more safe to pay at least 1/2 through paypal....

Can you ask if she has an account you can transfer funds to? We did that with our WD vendor. That is a lot of cash to carry. Will she accept a Western Union transfer? That's almost as good as cash.

can you bring a certified bank check (those are like cash) or American Express traveler's checks

That is a lot of cash to expect someone to carry into another country. Hmmm, hopefully she has paypal or will except travelers checks. I'd be nervous too.

I agree with everyone else, that seems like way too much $$$ to have to carry around. I mean you would need 3 wallets for all the bills. Yikes!

She also accepts Traveler's checks too.

They will accept Paypal to but charge an additional 4%.

I payed for video before I left, but that was only $500 so the fee wasn't bad. Paypal takes a cut which is why she charges a fee.

 

If traveler's checks are an option just do that.

We are using Claudia as well. I think they said you can use travelers checks or paypal, and if you use paypal there is a 4% service charge or something, I forget the exact amount...Please let me know if you find out anything!!!
