Personal health question, kinda embarrassing

So this is a little embarrassing, but I started bleeding really heavily four days ago. It is no where near time for my period, and I have NEVER had an abnormal period. I took a pregnancy test so that isnt it. But it is really bizar, it is heavier then my period usually is. And ive noticed the last couple of days that my hair is falling out at an unusuall speed, and I feel really slugish. I have been sorta stressed lately. But this is really weird, has anyone else had this? Any advise?

I am guessing it's an an-ovulatory cycle. This exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. I'm not on the pill and have completely normal periods. All of a sudden, unexpectedly I started bleeding like crazy. I thought it might be a mis-carriage and called the doctor right away. I told them the "timing" of my cycle and last period and they told me it was an anovulatory cyle and that they happen from time to time for no reason. Anovulatory cycle means your body actually skipped ovulation that month and can give you a "phantom period" that can be VERY heavy. Also, you may have had a cyst that ruptured which can also cause bleeding. I would definetely call your doctor just to be safe, but I wouldn't worry too much

This happened to me once. I didn't call my doctor until it was almost over and then she just thought I was crazy. I need a new doc. I was scared it might be a miscarriage, so I really just didn't want to know what was wrong. I usually have really normal cycles also and this happed almost exactly mid cycle.

Hi Stacey, these are possibly red flag signs of Hypothyroidism. There is a thread started on here about it, but you can also google it.

Here's the BDW thread:

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t6436

Somewhere in there I posted a list of common symptoms. If you go to your doc, have them check NOT ONLY your "TSH" but also your "Free T3" and "Free T4" levels.

Hope that isn't it and that you feel back to normal soon, but in case it is and you wanna talk feel free to email/pm me... hug2.gif
