guest stay length

Recommended Posts

I am wondering how long do wedding guest stay at the resort when attending a DW? FMIL, keeps on asking me how long she should reserve time off.. but here the catch, we arent picking a venue until september.. so is it me, or is this a valid question this far in advance..also, the question of what type of room to suggest to my guest.. are they serious.. or is it me.. could these be actually legitiment questions. For example, i was asked should i book the premium room or the room with jacuzi, ok my response was there is no destination that was selected yet..?! IDK.. I think its me

For us to go down to the Dominican, we have the choice of 1 week or 2 weeks, so that is how long our guests will be going for. I think it also depends on where you go. If you go to Mexico, there are a lot more flights in and out so you can choose how many days you stay for.

She should request off as long as she wants to. You are over a year away, so its kind of weird to be asking this stuff so far ahead of time. And regarding the types of rooms? Its not you. How can you pick a room for a resort that isn't chosed yet?? Sounds like they might just be too excited about the DW. Maybe tell they that you plan on giving out all the important information when it comes available. Flights won't be available til some time in December/january.

Our parents and us are staying at the resort for a full week. Tell your FMIL that there is plenty of time to worry about the details...

We're having a smaller wedding (22 ppl) and gave our guests 2 options on the STD. We offered the 7 night stay or the 5 night stay. A few of them are even staying as short as 3 nights because they said they want us to be able to have some time alone. For us it will be the first time both of our families have been on a trip together and they are staying the full 7 nights. We sort of left it up to the guests and told them it was completely up to them how long they stayed.

Funny thing, my guests are flying down Wednesday and staying until Sunday. The wedding is Friday and we are leaving for a cruise on Saturday. However, 14 of the guests are cruising with us! I made reservations for the group staying until Sunday, but I left other reservations up to the other guests. I just gave them suggestions on where to stay. I guess it is a little easier having a wedding in Florida than having a wedding in Mexico.

We offered 2 packages, a 7 night and a 4 night. If anyone wanted to stay longer/shorter, etc. it was up to them.

With our guests a lot of consideration was put into cost and what their personal schedule was. My MOH would have loved to have been there the whole week but couldn't take that much time off work.

As for room categories, again that is an individual choice. I will say that every penny is worth it to upgrade the rooms on the cruise ship!

We are going for 10 days. We offered our guests 7 nights. But we told them they could book for whenever they wanted. We have some staying for 4 nights but most are doing the 7.

It's a little weird for her to be deciding things when you don't have a location yet. And how the heck would you know what kind of rooms a resort has if you don't know what resort your picking. Some resorts have a lot of different options some have one kind of room. Tell her you'll talk it about AFTER you pick your location.

Maybe she wants to put in for her time off now. Her company might work on a first come/first served basis or seniorty.

We are staying 11 nights. We have guests staying as few as 3 nights and as many as 8. Granted FI and I will have a total of 2 nights alone at the resort (earliest guests are coming down the day after us, latest are leaving the day before us). We arent' worried, the resort is HUGE, we can be alone if we want to be

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
