Thank you all for the very warm welcome welcome.gif As far as little things: we are still deciding between having a DJ or having a medium sound system with an IPOD for our reception music (and a separate CD with our "special songs"- father/daughter, mother/son, and our 1st dance, etc.) We have about 35 guests confirmed to attend- so itâ€s not a large party- but enough to want a well organized reception. It would be nice to have a third party (DJ) to introduce us and each of the dances- but we are trying to see if the audio technician that comes along with the audio package does this. We are also still working on some minor details as far as decorations because we are still a bit confused as to what is included in our package. We qualify for the "free" wedding package- but we have upgraded to the Excellence of Love gold wedding package due to our attendees being more than expected (great for us- the more the merrier- but it adds up wink.gif The package lists are vague about what decorations are included (it lists "additional decoration") I am also concerned about getting our things to Mexico because our WR (Noemi) has advised us not to ship or mail anything due to customs. I was planning on shipping all along because our package(s) would arrive in 24 hours, and I would not have to fuss with everything until we arrived- BUT I anticipate now that we will be paying boo coos at the airport for overweight luggage (welcome bag items, and some personal items we are taking for the reception, etc.) We also want to have our wedding party's clothes steamed or pressed at our expense through the cleaners at the hotel- but we donâ€t know the pricing or the procedure for everyone taking in their clothes and then having them returned the day of the wedding. Our rehearsal dinner was also a major confusion because we wanted something private- yet since the resort is all inclusive- we didnâ€t want to pay too much since we are already spending extra for the extra guests (more than 20 people) on the reception. We are having it now in one of the hotel restaurants in a "private" room- but I am not too sure how private it is. I guess we will just have to see when we get there (we will have 5 days before our wedding- I am praying nobody gets a severe sunburn during those 5 days- I will be the sunscreen queen running around chasing everyone down with SPF 55 :)

We have actually just chosen our photographer, although we have yet to formally sign the contract. We have decided to go with Michael Maurus- any info on him? I spoke with him for about an hour on the phone (he has a toll-free 1800 number- which is nice) and he seems VERY nice and very in-tune with our style and expectations. The pictures are what we have decided to splurge the most on since thatâ€s really all we can bring back with us to the states (besides our memories of course :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
