Tanning...

I'm tanning because I want to get the color I want before I go the beach so that I'm not worried about getting a tan there and I can wear sunblock so know the color I will be so that my makeup is right. Plus, YES! My big butt looks much better tan!

Reviving this thread...

I am thinking about tanning. Our wedding is in May, so I want to start right away, so that I can go for a makeup consultation prior to departure. (I want my makeup to match my tan skin not winter white! Plus if I can avoid tan lines, even better! We'll be there 3 days before our ceremony.)

Can anyone suggest a good tanning salon (clean, reasonably priced) preferably in Winnipeg? I'm considering Tan FX or Lava Suntan Studios. I am also only looking to tan in a stand up.

I started tanning last month for my May wedding, I want to have a good base so when I get there I don't burn LOL!

I have never tanned before in a tanning bed...I am wondering what you ladies do, do you wear sunscreen on your face (like a lotion with SPF in it) when you go in?

Also, do guys usually strip down or do they wear underwear lol? My FI wants to go with me and he doesn't know how it works either lol (I don't like the thought of stepping into one right after a guy's junk was laying directly on it eewww...)

I thought a month before would be ok...What do you guys think? Should we start earlier?

You typically wear some of their tanning lotion (which doesn't have SPF in it) and sunscreen isn't normally used. You start with a low time and then gradually increase it. I normally go a few times a week and increase time as I see fit (if I'm pink I do the same time until I'm used to it and no longer pink).

I go in there totally naked, you are by yourself in a room with a locked door so I go naked to avoid tan lines. Your FI would go in a different room as they clean the beds after each use.

If you have never done this before, I'd suggest maybe 2 months or a month and a half. I take awhile to build up a base and actually start tanning so I started last month and am getting married in May.

LOL... I would definitely recommend that your FI covers up his...um...junk! LOL... anything that is not usually exposed to sunlight has a high potential to burn!!
