As soon as I saw that picture I LOVED it, but couldn't remember your photos looking just like that. Ik Kil is a WHOLE day to travel to and from and do photos. I'm looking into Dos Ojos Cenote for ours. If we can't go there we will probably go to Gran Cenote. I just wanted something different, no offense toward you, but something i hadn't seen from anyone else. I LOVE your photos and all your input on the cenotes is so great and definitely appreciated.

Morgan, thank you for doing pictures at a cenote, you have inspired me!
oh no it didn't come off mean at all. I was just throwing that out there so you didn't feel so dissapointed to know that the vine pic came from a cenote too far away. And I'm excited to see pictures come back from different cenotes. We only did gran cenote because we had a trip planned there already before we planned to TTD.

I also fell inlove with a picture of ik kil. there is a picture of a beam of light shining down on the water. I was dissapointed to see that it was so far off too.

I saw this thread and the picture Jason posted and fell in love w/ it! So I started searching and became very dissapointed. The picture w/ the vines is NOT Grand Cenote, its Ik Kil cenote, which is out in the middle of northern Yucatan peninsula. Its much further out than we would be able to go. I was soooo bummed so I'm still looking, but I wanted to save any other girls from searching for that beautiful cenote near by.
Thank you so much for saving me the trouble of trying to find that location at Gran Cenote. I appreciate you posting about it!

We went to Azul Cenote because for some reason I drove around looking for Choc Mool but couldn't find it. El Eden (Ponderosa), Cristalino, and Azul Cenotes all are very close together a little bit further south of Playa del Carmen than Choc Mool is.

From Secrets Maroma Beach resort driving the speed limit in fairly light traffic it still took us close to an hour to get to Azul Cenote. Below are some pictures that I took of it far away...I will post more pics once I get our TTD pics from our photog.

The light areas are actually the rocks in the cenote...it looks so gorgeous. The day we went for our TTD it was fairly early and the guys working at the cenote were scrubbing the rocks with brushes to get the algae off. The cost per person to get into the cenote was 50 pasos.

i'm sorry, i don't know why the pictures turned out so giant. Maybe it's the setting I had my camera on? I thought Photobucket was supposed to upload all of them smaller?
