Hello! We have also been thinking of getting married in Puerto Vallarta mainly because of Dazzling Details! Their website looks amazing. We have just started the initial emailing stage with them.

 

For those getting married in a catholic church - will your service be in English? Is it public/private? Will DD be able to decorate the church for the ceremony?

 

I was thinking of having the reception at either Dreams or Grand Velas. Do any of you have any pictures of receptions there?

 

Also - do you have to get in touch with the hotel first or with Dazzling Details first?

hi anacj! i'm getting married at the church in town in 2 weeks and then my reception is at dreams pv. i'll definitely get you pictures and tell you all about it when i get back!

 

the mass will be in english but it will be open to the public. this doesn't really bother us though...comes with the territory of choosing the main cathedral in town

Hi There,

Im getting married at Casa Velas which is in the Grand Velas family of hotels. You need to get your rate from the hotel and then also work your wedding planners for the design aspects. I actually got a rate from Grand Velas 8 months ago, I will try to find it for you. It was very pricey so we decided to go with the next best thing which is Casa Velas. Im not sure if DD does weddings on that property though. You may want to check with them to see where they work and where they don't work.

oh you don't get in touch with the hotel at at all if you are using them - they do it all for you - it's much easier

Jess - what time is your mass going to be? Also will DD be able to decorate the church at all? Kristin had mentioned sometimes it's hard to do so between masses. Let me know! The fact that the whole mass is in English is enough for us - that church is GORGEOUS!!

 

Do you girls mind me asking - how much was it to hire DD? I see what they have done with weddings and it is AMAZING. She hasn't sent me a bid/proposal yet but I was just curious.

My mass is at 1:30PM - earlier than I wanted but all they had available. Our reception is not until 6:00 though. I think they will be able to decorate with flowers but not much else - I'm not positive. I'll let you know when I get back though!

 

As far as the price - it all depends on the amount of people so I think prices are all over the board. Also you pay a little extra if you have your ceremony at a different place than the reception. But for what they did it is not that expensive and worth every penny.
