I think ties would look very nice, since your girls are alil more formal, however it isn't worth fighting over constantly. I'd say go with his idea on this. *Maybe he will change his mind after you sweetly agree with him. Ha Joe does that a lot to me. I think maybe he feels bad and so he says "Never mind, its cool, do whatever you think is best." ha

I don't think the men have to match to women for formality. so often a DW has the bride in a fancy gown & the guy in slacks & a short sleeve shirt. all around the hotel you see women in sun dresses & men in shorts & t-shirts. I think it just reflects what each likes. When women go on vacation they want to pack their cute outfits. Men typical pack their most comfortable.

 

so i say, let him win. He should get more say in what the guys wear unless he is totally off track & wanting to do something really tacky.

Maybe you guys could compromise and bring the ties with you and see what you like better when you are all actually standing next to eachother. That way you don't have to have silly arguments about it and you both compromise
