OMG - I FINALLY figured out Problem #1.

 

I took a blank memory card and stuck it in my camera. Then hooked up the camera to the Mac. Downloaded the pics to the memory card and then downloaded the memory card to the picture frame. IT WORKED!!! Yippee. I feel like MacGyver.
