Help!!! My family convinced me to get a Mac since all I really use a computer for is internet, pics and music. Ok, well I'm having all kinds of issues and I'm getting really frustrated. censored.gif

Ok, Problem #1:

I have a SmartParts digital picture frame that I am trying to download pics to. How do I get the pics from my Mac to the frame? I can't figure it out.

Problem #2:

I also want to save some pics to disks to give to friends (of my niece's 3rd birthday party.) I burned the pics to a DVD+R disk, but they don't show up when I try to open the disk on a PC (which is what my friends have.) Uuuggghhh - see why I'm frustrated.

Problem #3:

And this may be a question for Apple directly. How do I install my old iTunes account on the new Mac?

Thanks for your help.

Your frame should have a USB plug... plug into your Mac and an icon should appear on your desktop.. you can then click and drag your photos onto this icon. (Or double click on it and it will open like folder for you to drag your images onto).

I can't help you with these questions, but I will say it took me many months to get over an absolute hatred of my mac. We're now on better terms, but there's still tons of times I get totally lost!

Oh, for #2, did you make sure that it simply burned correctly and you could open on your mac after you finished? I've done that before.

Did you make a backup of your songs onto DVDs? The songs aren't stored in your "account" They're stored on the hard drive of your computer.

Please know that you are not the only one with these issues!girl_werewolf.gif

I recently bought the new MacBook Air just because I thought it looked cute and is super light, but I just hate that I don't know how to use it properly.

BTW, have you considered the private classes they hold at all Apple stores? I hear they are very informative & will answer all ur questions, plus show you all the cool things ur computer is capable of doing!

#1 - Did the frame come with a program to upload pics to link to the frame? Did it include a USB cord? That should connect to the frame to upload pics from iphoto.

#2 - I recently tried to burn photos to a disc and haven't been able to figure it out either, so I am no help to you with this one.

#3 - There is a program called TUnes Transfer you can get at Best Buy for $20, that will help transfer your music. It may not transfer all the songs though. When we bought our imac we lost a lot of our purchased songs and the free downloads. I luckily had burned most to CDs, but there were some that I didn't have a backup of. I emailed Apple and they were able to give me instructions on how to get some of the songs back. I don't have the email anymore and can't remember what I did.

#1. Yes, it did come with a UBS cord but for some reason I was under the impression that this frame wasn't Mac compatible. I just fiddled around with it and it is compatible. My problem now is that when I try to transfer the pics, I'm being told there isn't enough space on the frame - which is weird because this frame is suppose to hold 3000 pictures and I only want to upload 1400. Could the pictures be too big maybe?

#2. I went to Staples and specifically asked about this. I was told to use a flash drive. Well, I don't want to use a flash drive. I want to send some of my friends some pictures without having to get the flash drive back. And I'm not buying a flash drive every time I want to send someone pictures. Staples also suggested emailing the pictures which I can't do because it's too many and it'll take forever.

#3. I had gone into Apple before I bought the Mac and asked some questions. My biggest issue about getting the Mac was that I was afraid I was going to lose my iTunes account. Apparently anything you purchase from iTunes will always be yours and you can get them back if you get a new computer. I just don't know how. I'll have to call them. And yes, I did save all my music on disks, so I do have them backed up.

So right now, I'm hating on my Mac. We have had a "love/hate" relationship since we first met. I hate it until I figure out something new and then I love it.
