I am also a China manufacturer bride. The maker just emailed me saying that the dress will be ready in about 15 days so I can't say much about quality. Thus far, service has been easy and attentive. Before selecting a ebay vendor, I read all of the feedback and searched the message boards for comments. Very few have been dissapointed.

I have been purchasing a lot from Ebay for the wedding, so don't be nervous. Just make sure you don't wait till the last minute. If anything is wrong you can always get a replacement.
Jenetta, you'll definetly have to let us know about the quality and could you tell me which vendor you are buying from?

I've been looking at them and they're such a good deal, but I'm so nervous about the quality. Please let me know how yours turns out, I hope wonderful!

Thanks for all the reassurances guys! I've bought a lot of things off eBay before, but just never anything as big/important to me as a wedding dress so that's why I'm a little nervous. It'll save enough money that I think it's worth it. I've gone through the feedback posts and with the exception of one seller who had far too many brides claiming they never got their dress, the others sounded safe. Wish me luck!

I've been selling and buying stuff on Ebay for a few years. Just be careful who you are buying from. I once bought a BCBG dress from some company who gets them from China and it was definitely a fake (the quality of the fabric just wasn't there). Make sure you read the reviews and maybe search the ebay boards for info. Oh, and don't buy from anyone who keeps their reviews private. Let me know if you have questions, maybe I can help!

The one I quickly steered away from was Buy Direct Bridals. I e-mailed the seller and got a reply, but when I asked a further question I got the identical reply. So the communication level is definitely not good. I then went and reviewed the seller's feedback and noticed far too many brides warning that they paid but never received their dress - which obviously is a risk I want to avoid.

The seller I'm now thinking of buying from is elegant fashion outlet. They are so quick to respond, and very helpful (though they won't mark the dress as a gift to save on customs). They have had no negative reviews which was a comfort. Also, I was interested in some Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses that aren't listed in their store but they still provided me with quick price quotes and advised me that they can get any Alfred Angelo dresses as they're an authorized dealer.

Those are the only 2 I've really dealt with so far on eBay.

thanks for the information shelley, I'll have to check them out.

I've tried a lot of dresses on in the stores and I know what I like and dislike, so if I can find a dress on ebay, thats not too expensive and something I like I'll probably go for it. But its good to hear who other people have used or have researched.

Thanks

the Ebay seller is Gianinar Bridal

Now my dress in particular wasn't a high end designers to begin with. The material was like a poly acetate if that makes any sense. Basically it's not satin or silk which can come in so many different qualities. The fabric was my main concern. I will definately keep you posted! Keep your fingers crossed.

I should investigate how they handle customs as well. I really think the cost covered everythinghuh.gif

I ordered my dress off eBay from gianinarbridal, as well.

So far they've been great about sending me pictures of the material they're using and the colors the dress will be.

I've been having nightmares about what it will actually look like, but I'm only spending $170, so if it's horrible, I won't be out that much. I did research the company a bit before I bought.

I'll let you guys know.

I am ordering a dress online and so I looked into customs. For an $800 dress it will cost me around $200 for tax and customs and stuff. So, I don't think it will cost you that much money on $500.

Apparently you can go to this site to find out more info Welcome to the Canada Border Services Agency | Bienvenue à l'Agence des services frontaliers du Canada I have not checked it out yet, but Net Bride sent it to me to find out about the customs. Hope it helps.

As for buying from Ebay, I have boughts lots of stuff from ebay as well and never had any problems, but not a wedding dress, sorry.

My dress is in! smile29.gif smile159.gif smile72.gif While I can't take pics of myself in it I will post what he sent to me via email. I must admit that I was soooo nervous as I opened the bag but it's the best $179 spent. My ebay dress is good!

Likes:

Same material if not lighter weight than the original

Train is slightly fuller, not as mermaid as the original

Cups/breast pads were added, without my request

Accurate measurement and seam matching

Dislike:

Original has flowers and so do this but I think it's too many

Last ruffle's seem is in the front of the dress (sooooo picky)

Overall, it's a great value! Very easy process and seller communicated with me as often as necessary. I would definately recommend for a simple dress. The jury is out about the heavily beaded dresses or high end fabroc dresses.

Ebay seller: gianinarbridal

Total time:47-55 days, but who's counting!
