I gotta tell you, I am a cop in Rockford, and we HAVE to take a hit from a taser for the training. I took a 5 second burst, and it was the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. Mind you, I have had broken bones, torn muscles, surgeries, etc. The taser well surpasses all of those for pain level. Not to mention the fact that I had 2 semi-permanent burn scars on my back from where the barbs/prongs made contact. NO BUENO!!!! Tasers are very effective tools though...thank God that the police carry them.
