I don't see why not. Especially if you have a send off dinner or get together. Or do what I'm doing and make your parents and MOH be pack rats for you to get things there =) Are you flying? Its sorta easy for me since we're taking a cruise and driving to port (well taking a limo bus) So I have plenty of people to stack stuff on! They may throw me off the boat before the wedding however!!!

My FI and I want to do OOT bags as well, but didn't want to go overboard with a million items. We have about 50 guests attending so we decided to go with:

1. custom t-shirts (we will either get them done professionally or iron our logo on them ourselves) for the men;

2. half sarongs for the women;

3. custom water bottles (with our logo); our WC will supply the water bottles

4. welcome letter w/ itinerary;

5. a custom music CD with love songs

We are using inexpensive brown gift bags w the straw handles, slap on a nice logo sticker. One bag per couple, one bag for singles. Which will equal out to about 35 bags in total. We will put them together once we get to Jamaica.

Don't make these OOT a headache or a pain, and don't go crazy with millions of items. Make it easy, make it simple; your guests will appreciate it regardless whether it's full of aspirin, mugs, sunscreen OR just a simple letter saying, "Welcome to ________! We appreciate you and thank you for coming".

i'm doing them, and strangely enough my fiance is totally on board -- he actually *wants* them! i was so surprised. i won't need many tho ... if i needed to do a lot i think i'd skip them because of the cost. a lot of my stuff will be DIY stuff like welcome brochures and such that will cost me next to nothing but will match my invites/colors (i can print all this stuff at work). i really liked morgan's "meet the guests" so i might also do something like that. i think the guests would get a kick out of it, and besides, our families STILL haven't met! the way things are going they might meet for the first time on the plane! hehe

i bought the white/clear plastic beach bags that were at target recently for like $2 each, but once you get a stack of them they start to weigh quite a bit, so i may be returning them and opting for simple paper gift bags and do a logo sticker or something.

i think it's a good idea to give a small gift, esp since people are traveling so far and spending so much money to be there for you on your special day. maybe if you show him what some of the girls have done on here he will have a better idea and realize it's not too expensive to diy.
