To answer your questions, not much...the "trash the dress" title is a little misleading I think. there's another thread (actually it's been made a sticky) somewhere all about TTD and pretty well everyone who's done it has said that there dress was fine after and often they come out better looking than before (because the salt water will take out a lot of the stains from around the bottom of the dress and whatnot).

Hello ladies, I would like to know if most of you are doing their trash the dress with their actual dress or with another more economical or simple dress? Thanks for sharing

A lot of girls I've been noticing on here are taking a different dress to trash. I'm "trashing" my wedding dress. From what I hear they clean off quite easy in the shower and since my dress isn't too extravagant or large I don't think I'll have a problem

After much debating, I have decided to trash my own dress as well.  I bought a plain white cotton dress and thought about wearing that but I felt it would defeat the purpose which is for the pics to still be wedding related.  I thought about having a china knockoff made but then that's just something else I have to bring with me.
