Dress length question

Recommended Posts

So here's the dilemma-I want to be barefoot for the ceremony but wear shoes for the reception. The ones I bought are about 2 inches. So what length do I have my dress hemmed to? I just don't want to trip down the aisle or on the other hand have it look too short with shoes on. Any advice?

Christa...are you getting so excited. Your wedding is in 3 weeks. I am starting to get anxious and my wedding is 3 weeks after yours!!!
I know! Yes, I am getting super excited...not so much anxious. I did go through a very brief bout of anxiety a few weeks ago when I realized "holy crap, this is ACTUALLY happening! I'm getting married! This is permanent!" Then I looked at my FI and realized that's exactly what I want & he is going to be a fantastic life partner...but yeah, I had a full on bodily reaction for a moment!

I'm thinking the same thing. Barefoot on the beach, 2 inch heels at the receptiona nd hem to a 1 inch perhaps...

Just wondering what you girls ended up doing and what you would suggest for future brides with the same issue... I'm going for my first alterations next month, and they told me I needed to have shoes. I plan on getting married barefoot in the sand, and really don't want it to be too long for that. If any of you had it altered to barefoot and then wore a 1-2" heel, I'd love to hear what your experience was!
