The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Hey Ladies,     This is the best site ever. I am so excited to have found it. My fiancé and I visited Dreams in September and we have just this week booked the date of July 18th for our wedding. We are very excited, however we are noticing that a lot of family members are starting to  be concerned about the wedding being far away ( we live in NY). My parents especially, are worried that many people won't attend ( which I am okay with).  I am just wondering how many people most of you invited, and then how many people ended up actually attending. If you would be willing to share this with me I would really love it!  Another completely random question I have that may be on here but I haven't read all the pages is whether or not Chinese Lanterns are allowed. We would like to release them the night of the wedding, and the ones I found are non plastic and biodegradable. I was just wondering if anyone knew. Thanks so much!
Welcome to the thread :) we leave for dreams in 18 days! I just like saying that :) We invited about 50 people, knowing many of the wouldn't be able to make it bit we invited them anyway. We have 21 people going total. Chinese lanterns are not allowed as the resort is in a national park :( we wanted to do this too.

Thank you hezmshaw ! I really appreciate the information. I hope you have a fantastic wedding :) Let us know how it goes, when you get back. I am bummed about the lanterns but I am not surprised by the information. :(

We have about 60 people on our list to invite and I hoping we can at least get the 20 that are included in the ultimate package. My fiancé and I are okay with there not being a ton of people there, it is more my parents who are concerned about people not making it. I think we have to do what we want as a couple though. You only get married once :D

So it looks like we are going to have around 43/44 people which is very frustrating b/c I know the tables seat 10. Did anyone try to squeeze extra chairs at the tables or just had 8-9 people at each table in this type of situation? Also, do they provide a sweetheart table/guest book table etc?
