The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

We had a mic (it came with the sound system which I had for music), and with waves nd a bit of wind, i'm glad we had it. Our officiant spoke English and had no problems with the ceremony. I'm not sure how much you can modify the legal ceremony though - We had symbolic which allowed us to say exactly what we wanted.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this thread and I recently got engaged. I think I have chosen Tulum as my DW location but I'm thinking early 2014 so I have lots of time. I would just like to ask for a ballpark quote on how much a professional photographer cost for the day (leaning towards la luna or similar quality) and for an outside DJ (such as DJ Doremixx). I just want to know how much we need to save because pictures and music are a necessity, and from the sounds of it the resort services are not the best. I would also like to know if the ultimate package is worth getting if I'm getting an outside photographer anyway. If we went with the dreams of love package, does anyone know how much extra it would be per person to upgrade to the gold dinner? Any info would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hello juicy! Welcome:) photographer could cost ya from 1700 + for full wedding day coverage. DJ ... 920 for 5 hours+extra for the dance floor. The resort then charges $120 to bring outside vendors. These prices could prob go up in the next year or so. we're getting the ultimate lpackage. We sat down and individually added all of the items we wanted off of the "customize your wedding" price menu and it quickly added up, but I think the dreams of love works great for a lot of ppl.

We budgeted around ten .... Our trips are 3600 together for ten days, and our baby. We're getting a credit as well since our group booked five rooms, so we credited that toward our trip cost. The dance floor for doremixx is an extra 700:/ we aren't getting that. We screwed up big time cause we got the ultimate package and i kept thinking "I don't need any extras". Now I'm seeing I want A LOT. avante garde chairs, extra set up fees, tons of random centerpieces, welcome bags. Add everything you can to your budget. .. Excursions, , suits, dress, decor, tips, attendant gifts. I know it seems like I'm going on and on but, these are all things I should have considered beforehand! We're hoping for a nice tax return lol.

Taegan, that's a great question!  I'd love to know the answer.  We're hoping for a chapel wedding as well.

Juicybride, La Luna is now part of Del Sol photography.  I contacted them for a quote and for a 6 hour span (ceremony + after pics + reception) it was well above your $1700 quote.  Expect more like $3200 for the most novice photographers in their crew.

We ended up asking a friend of mine who is a professional photographer.  For $2000 I can fly her there and pay for her trip, plus she offered to photograph all the other important moments.  I'd love to have Del Sol/La Luna, but I can't justify that much money....  :(
