The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

I would like to know the same thing.  I have e-mailed the WC but still no response.  We only have 16 people in our party so I just can't handle paying the $150 plus the per person charges to put a few things on the table when a friend is happy to do just that.

Can someone email me the 2011 price guide please!!  I just received the 2010.  PM me for email address.  Appreciate it.

Nothing new to report with me.  No new bookings.  Still have to get attire sorted, so much to do.  But im procrastinating!!

I hear ya! I'm tired of the extras that seem to be popping up and for such a small party (we'll have no more than 30 people, and i think that's being generous). My mum is quite happy to go set up some stuff, rather than me just not having anything! I'll try my best to get a response from someone and if I hear anything I'll let you know!

I asked the same question and I was told yes, I can set up my own decoration for free. I am going to have my Mom and niece set up the reception decorations for me, we are only having about 30 people. I asked about the gazebo and hanging lanterns, but for those you will have to pay the $150 to get them to do it. They told me that it was a safety issue, they don't want a guest to be on a ladder on fall and break something!

But for any decorations that you don't need a ladder for, you can do it yourself. I received this response in August of this year, so it was very recent.

If anyone has the 2011 copy of the wedding guide I would love to get a copy please, our wedding is March 28th and I would like to know ahead of time how much they are raising the prices!!

Hope this helps!

HELP! Ok - we're getting married May 12, 2011 and I'm trying to figure out what documents (if any) we need to bring with us.  We are doing a courthouse wedding for the legal stuff and then essentially "renewing our vows" in Mexico in front of our family and friends. I've sent several emails to our coordinator and haven't really gotten a straight answer. I asked if we need to bring documents for our symbolic wedding since we'll be legally married already. This is my second marriage, so I'm not sure if they need my divorce docs or not...anyone know??

Also, after reading several posts on here, my FH and I are deciding whether or not to hire an outside DJ and photographer.  Who did you use? How were they? How much did they cost? I don't want to make this more expensive than we budgeted for but I do want our guests to have a great time at the reception and also I want our pictures to be amazing!

I'm just getting a gut-feeling like DT is nickel and diming us for every single thing! $3 +tax +gratuity to deliver OOT bags? Really?  Anyone have any money-saving tips they can share?

You should be locked in to the price from when you booked your wedding.

I'm just doing the symbolic ceremony and you will not need any divorce documents or anything since it is not legal in Mexico.

as for DJ, I just booked with DJ Bijan his pricing is great and he's handling the ceremony and reception.  I'm using Jillian Mitchell who is actually based out of PV but I love her pictures and she's wanting to do more things in the RM area so she gave a great deal.  As far as saving money on OOT bags, don't have the resort deliver them.  I'm going to pass mine out to guests as they arrive to the resort, this way I don't have to deal with the extra fees and I can meet and greet everyone as they come in.  Those guests that are flying down with us will get theirs in the airport, lol.

Good point about the OOT bags...Which package did you go with? I've been reading a lot of posts stating that it would be more economical to do the Free package and add the other things you want onto it...I'll have to try comparing the pricing to see how it all works out, but we will have about 40 guests.  I need to win the lottery!! woot.gif

We were originally planning on 50 guests and I had thought about doing the free package instead, but now quite a few of them won't be going due to some other family event sine it's apparently more important...ugh don't let me get started.  Anyway we are probably going to have 20-25 people with us so I'm sticking to the ultimate package.
