The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

when I had talked to them they were not going to do a credit for almost anything. You might want to ask them if you can use the photographer for Friday night if you are doing a welcome party. That is what we were going to do

Many other girls have been successful at trading photography for an extra hour of video so you can try that but based on what we've heard today you may not be able to.

I've always heard that the ceremony was taped, I think somebody recently said that there was music covering their ceremony but before that I had always heard there was music and editing before and after the ceremony but that the ceremony was unedited and with full sound. Perhaps just speak to the videographer to specify. 2-30 pax means 2-30 guests.

Wow we leave in 2 weeks and I don't feel like I have got anything done!! Working 60 hours a week and planning has been rough. One of the girls coming to the wedding is unable to come because the US miltary has denied all travel to mexico!!!! Not sure if its the swine flu or some other reason they have. As the anxiety builds!!! but reading all these great reviews is helping so thank you Tulum brides!!

50 pictures and digital cd $650.00
80 pictures and digital cd $890.00
Video Filming 1hr , for 2-30 pax ( Ceremony and family shoots) $380.00
Video Filming 4hr, for 30-80 pax (Ceremony, video studio and reception) $690.00
Video Filming 8 hrs, for 80 or more (Ceremony, video studio and reception) $1200.00
Video Filming 10 hrs, 2 cameras $1650.00

I'm good with everything in the silver package but I'll need to add 2 small bridesmaid bouquets and 4 boutonieres. I'm thinking of downloading and bringing all of our own music ... but adding 1 hour of video. We are bringing our own photographer so I'm hoping they'll substitute that cost for something else ... maybe the sound system. We are getting married here first ... and I'm pretty sure my brother-in-law will "marry us" while were there ... so I wonder if I'll get any kind of credit for that? I'm also still deciding if I want any flowers on the arch ... so does anyone know if I get a credit if I go no flowers there?

I'm just down to the wire and trying to fine-tune my budget.

Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated. Thanks! Suzanne
Hi Suzanne, As Beth and Sunbride have pointed out my understanding also is that they do not give credits for any aspects of your package that you do not use. Their policy is that the packages are set, this is why they also offer a bespoke service where you just pick and pay for the services you do want (most people add these services to the "free" package.)

They will trade your photography on the day for a TTD session or Rehearsal photography session and I think that "sometimes" they will trade elements between the photography and video but I dont think you should expect this as its not their official policy.

In my opinion they do seem to be getting stricter on costs, inclusions & trading services. For piece of mind I would double check with your WC. Have you considered the price difference between the free package and your initial choice? I do know that they are pretty good at changing your choice of package at the last minute to suit you.

Good luck with the budget.

Try not to stress too much. If you have little things left to do perhaps they don't need to be done after all, in my experience it's better to let a few things go (which seem soooo important now but afterwards you will think you are silly for stressing over something so inimportant) than to stress. You want to be feeling great on your departure day. Good luck!

Just wanted to let you ladies know that I just updated the bride list. Everyone who has sent me their info in the last month or so should be added now. If you're info has not been added, feel free to post it in the thread and I will add it in the next round of updates (in a month or so).

Hi ladies, I haven't been on in a while but I just saw some of the reviews and pics that just went up. BLKATZ- i'm sorry you had so many cancellations but i'm so glad the wedding went well anyway!!

I also wanted to tell you guys about a cool thing my hubby and i just did. After my wedding I had an “impressionist” like “painting” done with one of our photos. We just got it in and we LOVE IT! We worked with Bebelliet Studio. She can also do it in different painting styles depending on what you like: impressionist, oil painting, water color, etc…

She essentially takes a photo and makes it look like a painting. We had it framed and we LOVE it. Great to do with wedding pictures (or BM/parents gifts?). Anyway, she was great to work with, quick to respond and her prices were A LOT better than others I found online doing something similar work.

Just thought I’d share! we love love love how it turned out!

I dont have a pdf of the one she did of us (just have the hard copy) but she put me up on her site! Here's the link:

I forgot we had the romantic dinner on the beach on Tuesday night...I thought it was good but way over priced and it was on the beach and it was SOOOO windy. the food was yummy-started with salad with lobster on it, lobster soup and then fresh water lobster with steak. They also had a bottle of veuve. I think it cmae out to be about $200

hey ladies!

I know this question has been asked several times but I'm still having a hard time finding exactly what I want and need...where have you all ordered you chair sashes from and what size should I order? I'm also trying to decide on what color to get. My bridesmaids dresses are French blue and I don't know if I really want blue. Help please and thank you!
