Wedding Dress Material

Please share your opinions on the material of your wedding dress as it relates to heat and humidity. Anyone wish they had gone with a different type of material?

I remember there was a post about this a while ago... but I doubt I can find it. I would stay away from anything heavy like satin. I tried on a chiffon(?) dress today and it felt so light, it was great!

I would stay away from satin as well it is hot and sticky and shows sweat marks. There are some great matte jersey dresses (ex.Oleg Cassini) they pack great no wrinkles and do not make you sweat. Sheer and mesh are breathable fabrics as well but wrinkle a lot when packed but not from just sitting and getting up.

I just got mine today and it is pretty lightweight compared to the rest that I tried on. It felt the most comfortable. I think the material is taffeta.

Mine was taffeta, very lightweight, but don't get me wrong, I was still a sweaty mess, lol!

LOL...Were you hot from the moment you put it on or as the ceremony and activities went on?

Immediately! I ended up not even wearing my skirt thing that went under the dress, because that was one more thing to make me hot!
