Off to Jamboree in the Hills

I'm back from Jamboree (got back Sunday night)!

We had a great time. My parents' RV is gorgeous (will post pics in a little bit).

The weather was pretty good until some bad storms came through on

Sunday (and we were out on the concert field under tarps) and dumped rain and hail on us. It also blew over several portajons, quite a few tents and several canopies. But at least it took the sun away for a little bit.

My mom even got a 2 second interview on the local news coverage. She is the last one in the video clip (which is clean enough to watch at work). You can't tell in the video but the straw that is in her drink is actually a p*nis straw. That is why my stepdad (in his "sex, beer & country music" shirt) is laughing in the background.

I will post more pics as I get them from others and put them in photobucket. I didn't bother to take any. They look the same every year except we get fatter and older.

Here are some of the jamboree pics I took with my cell phone:

Setting up our campsite. The parent's RV is the one in the picture.

Inside views of the RV when I didn't have to share my half with FI and my sister and BIL. In second pic, you go up 3 stairs and there is a bathroom and the master bedroom.

Here is a picture of my stepdad and my mom, well into drinking mode. My stepbrother (who does screenprinting) made him the t-shirt he is wearing.

These are pics of the concert site on Thursday afternonn for opening ceremonies. It gets more crowded as the sun gets lower and is more crowded on the weekend. As you can see, your territory is marked with tarps. This is done in the morning and is called the redneck run. On Friday and Saturday, the run is crazy, they open the gates and you have to run down and across the hill to get to your spot...without falling or being trampled. Rule #1: Don't fall. Rule #2: If you do fall, curl up and cover your head.

This is the stage view. We are pretty much always in the same spot. If you look to the left, you see huge speaker platform next to the stage. Neal McCoy climbed to the top of the right side platform and sang. That was before he invited people from the photoline up on stage to dance with him. Around 40 people were up there.

That's it for now. I will add more pictures once I get them from the other people in our group.
