Hi Ana! My best guesses afte having just gottenarried at RPM in June is that you coul probably get away with paying for a day pass for your photographer if you want them to come to the resort to take pictures before your ceremony. With regards to the rehearsal dinner I would imagine that it woul depend on how many guests you had and that you'd only be allowed to chose from the Guacamole Restaurant (open air steakhouse where the lunch buffet is also situated) or at La Bodega (the Mexican restaurant) Let me know if you have any questions or want to see some pictures from when we were there. We brought out photog as a guest from home and she did an amazing job!

I would love to see some of your pictures.  Like Ana - I'm haveing ceremony and reception off-site but interested in some on-site events at the hotel.  Has anyone done a Welcome cocktail party there?  How much did that cost?

Would the resort allow something like a welcome beach bonfire?

Your survival kits are awesome! Where did you order the personalized chapstick or did you make the labels?

Hi everyone!  I just booked my wedding for Dec 6, 2014 and RPRM!!  It is sooooo far away but the groom and I are both finishing up grad school and don't want to be busy with wedding planning on top of that!  This site has been a blessing!!  I feel like I already have been to the resort with all of the photos and comments!

I still have a couple of questions though.

1. Regarding the beach ceremony, they all seem to be in front of a fence with the beach lounges behind them.  Is there any way to be closer to the beach to reduce the amount of onlookers in your photos?  I have always dreamed of having my feet in the sand the day of my wedding (hence why I am reluctant to do the more private gazebo), but some of the pictures I have seen disturb me with the chairs everywhere!

2. Has anyone done the "free" package on the beach? I am wondering what type of decor that this package offers.  We crunched the numbers and realized paying the additional fee per person was still cheaper than upgrading to the Royal package.  I may be swayed to upgrade though if the decor is also upgraded.

3.  We are not doing a private reception so we are going to need to find something to do after dinner.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  We are not going to want to go watch a show or anything, we will be in full out party mode!  Has any bride ever walked to the RIU Tequila's disco with their wedding party to continue the evening?

I am sure I will have many more questions as things progress!  Thanks to all of the former brides and brides to be for their help!  I do not know what I would be doing if it wasn't for this site!!   THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!

From what I've heard Riu Palace Riviera Maya does not offer the free package but Riu Palace Mexico does.

Hi JenniferM,

That is what I had assumed as well from this site, but I emailed the RPRM and their sales executive sent me information that claims it does.  Oddly it claims that the free package is now only available at the RPRM versus the RPM.

After getting this info, we confirmed the free package at the RPRM and it is set in stone for 12-06-14!

Maybe they have changed things for 2014...

That's great - and definitely different from what is said on their website.

How much is the extra cost per person for private dinner when you use the free package?  Do you get to choose any restaurant at the Riviera Maya resort?

I do not know the extra costs associated with doing a private dinner because we are just opting for the semi-private dinner that is included.  For guests over the 10 included in the free package, it is $25.00PP.  This additional cost covers the ceremony chairs, champs and cake, and dinner reservation.  It is just like the other packages at the RPRM, you have to chose from Chiles or Botofogo.
