I need to figure this out too. I am not having alterations done where I got my dress (wasn't thrilled with David's Bridal service, but wanted the dress) so I still have to find someoone to alter it. I have to get on top of this... a timeline would help.

It just depends on where you take it. I just brought my dress in for alterations and I have two months left. I have my next fitting on August 6th. If they need to alter it again I will still have a month left. I would say make sure you get it in at least two months before the date.

I too bought my dress there but thought they were really rude. I am going to take it to a mom and pop place to get it altered.

I am glad to hear others didn't have the best experience at David's Bridal either. I felt like I was bothering the girl by being their trying on dresses! I wasn't sure if I should go back to them for alterations and the free cleaning/press/bead check cause I walked away with my dress the day i bought it but I guess if I find someone good around here they could do that as well!
