Gifts Vs. Cash

Recommended Posts

How do you politely ask for cash instead of gifts. Me and my FI are trying to save for a house and pay for our wedding. we would rather money instead of house goods that wont fit into our APARTMENT! But what do i do for the shower i know i cant ask for money at a wedding shower. Please help.

please use the search function for the forum. there is an entire thread dedicated to this question - the quick and easy answer is there is NO polite way to ask for cash. its tacky to do so. it's tacky to ask for gifts at all. your registry should be displayed on your website or spread by word of mouth from your family/bridal party.

people will bug you to register for gifts even if you dont want to. check out something like a bed bath and beyond registry - they give you cash for all returns.

I agree, I think it is really tacky to ask for cash no matter how you phrase it. My best freind is queen of asking for cash instead of gifts, and it makes me want to get them NOTHING!!
