Azul Hotel and Beach Resort

Hey! I know I heard they just did a huge renovation to The hotel. I think were going with the pearl then adding stuff. Some of the silver/gold had stuff we aren't going to use. I'm just doing a symbolic ceremony in MX. We're going get married legally in NY before we go. So far I only spoke to Erica and Amanda from the Miami offices. I still have to confirm my date. Now it's looking like it'll be April 6th or 7th 2012. I hope it's available. I was actually going to do memorial day weekend too buts it's already booked for next year. I am going to have probably like 50 people. Originally we were going to do a dw and ahr but now we are just doing a dw. On my site visit my mom and I saw- Dreams Riviera Cancun, Ceiba del Mar, now sapphire and jade. Are you using their photographer and dj. I have so many questions I'm worried about hair and makeup al a whole bunch of stuff. I spoke to Amanda from the Miami office. But I have a questions their in Miami not MX so we deal with another person when we're there? I hate that today is a holiday I have so many questions to ask the wc. Who are you dealing with? I'll talk all the advice I can get. Thanks so much for your help

Hi!

They are in the middle of a huge renovation...lots has been completed and from the photos it looks amazing! We were all set on doing a legal ceremony but now we are really considering the symbolic ceremony. Are you working with a travel agency to book your rooms? We have 48 people booked right now and may up with a few more. We have until March 20th to give back the remainder of of the rooms that we reserved but have not used.

My Mom and I also saw Cieba Del Mar and Now Jade. I wanted to see Dreams Riviera Maya and Now Sapphire but didn't have the time. We looked at over 10 resorts in just a couple of days. What did you think of Cieba Del Mar and Now Jade? What are you looking for in a resort?

We decided not to use the hotel photographer and DJ. There reviews on their DJ were not that good but they do have a photographer Claudia Rodriquez who is really good. We almost booked her but decided to go with Samuel Luna at the last minute. The DJ we are using is DJ Doremixx. I am worried about using the resort for hair and make-up too! We are thinking of bringing someone in but the Karisma outside vendor fee is outrageous!! The outside vendor fee was $500 per vendor and now its $800 per vendor which is a bit over the top if you ask me. So unless you use all the hotels vendors its going to cost you a lot if you want to bring anyone in as a outside vendor.

Also, I am not sure if you know this or not but Azul Beach Hotel changed their 1 wedding per day to 2 weddings per day. Luckily, I booked right before they made this change. Having 1 wedding per day is why I booked Azul but 2 weddings is still not too bad...Some resorts have 6 weddings a day.

I am working with Maria in Miami...She is awesome and always gets back to me within a day or two.

It's such a small world. A friend of a friend just told me her dad came back from Azul beach and he loved it! So glad to hear considering I haven't seen anything but pictures and reviews. How long did it take for you to get the contract? I want to put a hold on rooms asap because they book quick but I want to get my contract and put my deposit soon. I loved Ceiba it was same size as Azul beach and quiet. I didn't know if it'd be too quiet from my group. I loved the wc at now sapphire they were great and out of all the places I went to the best ones. The hotel has a authentic Mexican feel to it I loved where the wedding ceremony would take place and loved the deck. The rooms looked a little dated as well as the lobby. I wasn't too thrilled with the plan b (aka if it rains) options. I try not to think of rain but you never know. Now jade seemed modern. It was okay but nothing that I liked. Everyone has different taste. The wc was very sweet and helpful. My matron of honor is actually going to a wedding this May there so she'll fill me in on the details. I do like Claudia for photos hopefully I can get her for the wedding. The Dj I'm worried about I asked who they used and she didn't give me an answer. She said if I have someone in mind they'll see if they can get him. Don't know what that means lol. Hopefully it means not to pay an $800 fee. Some places are wedding factories. They hadn't told me that but figured it's only 90 rooms. They can't have that many weddings. Hopefully it all goes well

Hey!

I just heard from my WC in Miami and she said that it was only 500 dollars for an outside vendor....

It sounds like the policys may not all be in place yet. i would ask about it though!

I just got back from an international trip so I will have to call my wc tomorrow. Now that I am done with this trip it's strictly wedding planning. My contract says $500 for photographer but I didn't see anything about other vendors. Just that is must be booked by the wc. I wanted to get dj Doremixx for music. Not sure about the dj they use.
