How old were you when you got engaged?

So my brother is talking about proposing to his now GF...and they are both 21! I may be just an overprotective older sister, but I'm surprised that they are talking marriage already. Just out of curiosity, how old we're you when you got engaged?

I got engaged when I was 27 (I dated him since I was 22). I knew from day 1 that I would marry him, but I'm so glad we waited til we were older to get engaged.

I was 26. I don't think age matters as long as you are prepared in other aspects of life. Maturity wise, financially, etc. So if he is ready to be a husband I don't think 21 is too young.

I was 17, 3 days before my 18th bday to be exact. I am 21 now and just starting the real planning. I didn't tell my parents that we were engaged or anything, we still havent had an official "talk," but they know we have a date set and are planning. Kinda weird. If they are going to have a long engagement then I think there wont be any issues. My FI and I have been living together for about a year and things are going great.
