Picking our Spot!

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

This is my 2nd post as I'm just beginning the stages of researching my destination! Very exciting but kind of overwhelming this is.

I really don't have anything narrowed down yet. I know I want all-inclusive, kid friendly resort in the Caribbean or Mexico. (Punta Cana has been standing out to me, and St. Lucia)

Of course we want an amazing, beautiful place and would like for it to be a larger resort but want to keep it affordable for our guests - we're thinking not over $1300 per person. (and less for kids - is that how most resorts work?!)

Also, we won't have a huge group - maybe 35-45 people. Does it make sense to work with a travel agent for this size group? Are travel agents very helpful in general to scout out locations?

Or...Is there a certain Web site or book/magazine that was helpful to you that gave good reviews and overviews of resorts?

There are so many places and things to look at! I'm wondering if there is advice or help for this part?

Sorry for the long post. But any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Kim

Welcome! I am also new to the site. You must have been reading my mind! Those were exactly the same questions I have. I am going to see a TA tomorrow. I am wanting to keep my price around 1300 I hope thats possible with the inflation of airfare? I will let you know how it goes tomorrow with the TA. My guests will be flying out of Ohio mostly. One guest from AZ.
