usually if you tell them you're a teacher, they'll ignore the limit and let you buy enough for a class (20-30).

I just went to Staples today. They allow teachers to buy 25, for a penny each. They are 0.5 ounces each. They don't ask for ID, at least mine didn't.

Thanks for the tip. The staff at the store that I went to were miserable. They had a sign up that said "10 for a penny, each one after that 10 cents."

 

I thought I had struck gold and picked out all the ones I needed -- got the counter only to be told rudely that there was a limit of 2. Huh, that wasn't what the sign said. Had the staff been polite, I might have let it slide, but since they were horribly mean, I fought and won. I ended up getting 20 of them for $1.24.
