Newbie getting married in Cuba!

Hi everyone,

 

My name is Emily and my FH and I are getting married in Cuba in October, 2009.

 

I thought I had my heart seat on getting married at the Paradisus Rio de Oro, but now I'm thinking of getting married at the Melia Las Dunas. I am still waiting for some quotes to get back to me, but at this point I think we'll be basing our decision on price.

 

My biggest concern right now is getting the information out to people. I have started a website, but there's not much on it right now as we haven't yet booked our trip. FH and I can only afford to put deposits down for 10 people, we honestly didn't think we'd get anymore than that, but it looks like lots more people want to come.

 

I don't know if I should send invites/STD out now, before we have trip information, or if I should wait until we have pricing? AS I understand it, they can only hold the price for 7 days and after that it might go up. I'm concerned that people won't have enough time to put a deposit down? Any advice?

Welcome, my advice would to send out STD or an email with estimated prices and booking dead lines. All the best!

Welcome to the Forum! I would send out an email as soon as you get your booking information - a STD might take too long. If you send them an email and direct them to your website, that might be a good way to do it. Plus it will save you the cost of doing paper STD's!

I think that's what I will do. I will send out an evite and direct them to our website and tell them to stay posted for travel details. Once I have the travel information I will post it on the website for everyone.
