oh my god! are you serious? do you know who the photographer was? we are having an outside photographer too (elizabeth medina) and i will be crushed if she can't come. (partly because i already put down the deposit and partly because i don't want stress that day and mostly because i want to have her as my photographer!)

do you happen to know the reason(s) behind the dismissal of the photographer? i.e. was the photographer from Mexico?

Carolina (WC) and Natalie (WC asst.) mentioned that you can have an outside photographer as long as they are not from Mexico. Reminder for brides to communicate intentions & plans in advance. Get these particulars in writing and have documentation on hand to be sure you are covered.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Jill Higgins is my photographer, so I'm sure she'll have the pictures covered. I've spoken with my on-site wedding coordinator and she said that it was ok to bring a photographer as long as they weren't from Mexico. Jill will actually be staying at the resort, so I don't forsee them kicking her out. Thanks for your concern though. That's crazy! I'm also not much of a beach girl, which is one of the reasons why I loved the gazebos. I will pay attention to the beach to let you all know how maintained it is. I heard the sound system is really good, but I'll confirm that too.

Thanks everyone and stay tuned!

I didn't have any info on whether the photographer was native or flown in from the states. I'm glad those who are flying people in can keep their photographer on premise tho. We have been tossing around the idea of Moon Palace for a week or two now, but I came across some photos of the beach on Webshots.com that verified the condition of the beach and my friend who was there last weekend brought back about 300 photos of the wedding she attended and the beach had seaweed everywhere in all her photos. And I noticed in the background of one of the photos, that the bridal party was doing a formal shot with the gazebo in the (close) background and they already were conducting another cermony there and all those people were in the photo. Now, granted, that's just a photographer and timing issue, but there's just something about the idea that this is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime event and the hotel is cranking them out like an assembly line----
