Hey ladies!

 

I think we've all been busy! I know I have:-)

Like only two months to go! eeek

 

I feel like I have TONS left to do/arrange...

Plus, I am currently in the midst of a "dress panic"...Yee-ep...I'm in danger of becoming a "two-dress bride"...Have to make a decision this weekend!:-)

If I want the new one, I cna pay to rush order it, and I'll get it just a week before we go! Good lord. Why do we do this to ourselves? :-)

 

Anywaaay, just wanted to give a shout-out to the December girls as we head in to the home stretch:-)

Simistar- what did you decide about your dress?

 

How is everyone doing as we enter the 2 month stretch? I am 2 months from tomorrow! YAY! I'm in total denial that my resort (dreams tulum) is closed right now and am holding my breath until it reopens...

 

Starting to get real emotional. I cry when i look at ANYONEs wedding pictures on this forum! I love it though.

 

I've started becoming obsessed with checking things off the list. Unfortunately, I'm drawn towards checking the things off the list that involve purchasing things and not so much into the things that require my doing work- like making the OOT bags (doing the iron ons!). I did do the following though:

- ordered my wedding band and my FI's

- ordered a polaroid camera off ebay for my guest book

- ordered my custom cups and shot glasses (not delivered yet)

- mailed these cute 'count down' magnets I made on vistaprint to my immediate family and BMs and GMs

 

How are you all feeling? what's new?

Amy, do your iron-ons! It's one of the most satisfying DIY things I've done so far... it's a pain, but it's so much fun to see the results.

 

I was just gone for 4 days in Toronto, so I'm trying to catch up on BDW news and have to get back into the wedding planning thing.

I have to admit, baby things have been on my mind more. It's like my mind goes way ahead of the game! LOL

 

I brought FI's ring to TO to see if I could get it engraved, but I couldn't decide on something to engrave it with, so I didn't do i

 

Have any of you gals engraved your FI's band?

I haven't but I think i would like to. I saw someone post on here that engraved "Do not remove"- thought that was funny. I haven't decided yet but I think its really sweet to have it engraved.

You could do:

- Forever yours...

- Love always

- Just the date and your names

- any cute special things you say to each other?? I think its sweetest when its personally meaningful!

I was thinking of something from one of our songs too...

I just don't know. I'll definitely post when I get a list together of options!

 

Amy - You said your resort is closed - is it for renos That woudl freak me out too! When is it supposed to re-open? Is your WC in contact with you?

Hey!

So...yes...I'm a TOTAL loser and am now a two-dress bride:-)
The first one I ordered hasn't even come in yet (end of October), so when it does, you'll see a posting on the "buy/sell" thread here fo' sho' :-)
It was a seriously tough decision...which I feel uber stupid about b/c it is...just a dress. Sigh.

The dress I am NOW going to wear is an off-the-rack Amsale...so I don't have to wait for it to come in...The bridal shop is holding it there for me...and I'll wait til November to get alterations done (it's one size too big) as I am PLANNING (haha) on losing 10 pounds (ch'ya right:-)) We'll see how THAT goes:-)

I've been following that thread a bit...I feel REALLY badly for the girls who are headed there right now! It appears they have no idea where they will even be going when they land in Cancun! Holy cow. I guess the good news for you is that the latest news is they're re-opeing mid-October...so HOPEFULLY (fingers crossed) it's DEFINITELY open by December!!

As for my to-do list...I seem to be ticking off just the "fun" stuff too:-) Buying stuff is more fun than MAKING stuff:-)

Ha ha!!! Nah, it seems to happen to a lot of girls on this thread. I'm so glad it didn'thappen to me (or hasn't yet! fingers crossed!)

THanks for updating me.I don't follow that thread. That is so freaking scary. I would just be so upset if that were my resort... My place (Shangri-La Caribe) is actually being razed for condos, but that doesn't happen til later in 2009. They keep pushing the date back, so I"m not worried about that. It's sad though that we probably won't be able to go back for a honeymoon It was just so beautiful, we couldn't pass it up.

And my big news is:

MY DRESS IS IN!!!The boutique called me on Friday, but I was on a conference in Toronto. I called them back yesterday and they told me it was in! I was so worried something went wrong with the order, because it's not supposed to be in until November 18th.

So... I'll be posting pics soon. I'm hoping to pick it up tonight after work. YAY!!!

KevsGrl- YAY! That is SO fun! I can't wait to see your pics!

 

yes, it is very stressful with this Dreams Tulum thing. There have been several BDW brides who've had to move at the last minute. I'm TRYING not to stress until next week when they 'say' they will reopen. Its just that Mex government is not necessarily the most predictable. Hopefully its resolved by next week but if it goes beyond that I WILL be in PANIC mode.

 

Other news:

- i booked a trial hair/makeup day for the morning before my next dress fitting. thought it would be fun to see the whole package!! Its for late Oct. I need to take the time to figure out how to post pics (i know there's a thread with directions...I'm just horrible).

 

- I bought gifts for my mini-GM, ring bearer and flower girl. Engraved camping tool/swiss army knife for my older nephew, an engraved piggy bank for my 2 year old nephew and 18 month niece.

 

- I ordered a customized handkerchief for part of my dad's present. We have a family joke about this. Growing up anytime one of us sneezed or anything, my dad would whip out his trusty hanky. All of my siblings are scarred by that crusty, nasty thing he made us use!!! So I thought it'd be cute. I still need to figure out a bigger gift for my dad/stepmom, mom/stepdad, and FI's parents. Am thinking about maybe a gift certificate to a bed & breakfast somewhere. but am not sure yet. They've done a lot for me for this wedding so I want to get them something nice.

 

- oh I also ordered cuff links from etsy for my FI's present for wedding day. It will have Tulum, Mexico (Jesus, I hope that's where we end up!! Please DT!) antique map on the inside. Etsy :: AnneHolman :: Vintage Map Custom Sterling Cufflinks

 

That's about it for activities... I was getting really excited. And then this crap with DT closing hit and now I have a very steady state of heightened anxiety that won't seem to go away!

I completely understand. I'd be in panic mode too in the next few weeks. That's just brutal I hope that it opens and things go smoothly.

If you want to post pictures, you need to have them uploaded online somewhere (so Facebook or Shutterfly or something online). Then you go to that picture online, right click and in Properties, it'll give you the address (something like http://.....etc). Then you go

I love the colour - it's great antique kind of ivory. It's very romantic.

It fits almost perfectly too.

You DO NOT look fat, you nut! It's gorgeous. Romantic is the perfect word to describe it. LOVE IT! Thanks for the tip on posting; I've been lazy to try to figure it out!
