Having Legal Ceremony at court house in US but Religious In Cabo

Recommended Posts

This is tricky! I was kind of confused like you although it was a totally different situation. I was worried about making the legal day feel too "real" and I didnt want it to take away from the wedding in Mexico. I am doing the legal stuff quick and painless, just signing papers and no celebration. I want Mexico to feel and be like the real deal wedding. But that is just my opinion! You have to do what feels right for you! Because of your godfather, I see where you are confused. HMMMM......

I think for once you need to put what YOU want first! Years down the road you dont want any regrets about your wedding. Its the most exciting time in our lives! You want to be able to tell your kids or grandkids your wedding story and have a happy face on! I know its hard, but I just think its time to put you first! Good luck! smile03.gif

My FI and I will be getting married leagally here in the states before we go to Mexico in December as well. This has been a really hard decision for us to make too. We have gone back and forth about it a million times it seems. But now we have set the date for August 29th! We will be doing a small ceremony in the mountains of Montana near my home town with my parents and his parents. An amazing pastor whom I have know for many years will be doing the ceremony for us. Our biggest hang up was that we didn't want our legal day to just be cut and dry. We are both Christians and felt that it was very important for us to have God be part of the most important commitment we will ever be making. I am going to wear a cute white sundress with white flip flops and David will wear his tan linen pants and a white linen shirt. I'll probably go get my hair done for fun too! I think it will work out just fine! I like that Maura said it took so much stress off of her once the legal part was done. I'm hoping to same for me too!

Thats exactly what I was thinking!! I just want it to be a FUN and WONDERFUL experience without the stress of cold feet or anything ..haha.

We are going to treat it like we aren't married yet while we are down there though.. having a brides party villa and a grooms party villa the whole week.. it'll be fun to be with the girls getting ready and partying during the week, and secretly already be married..lol
