Chase- I'm so glad we could help ease the tension!! I know how I felt in the months leading up to our wedding and they were stressful, but after being through it now, I would not have done it any other way! SO happy with our decisioncheesy.gif I would have to say that we enjoyed our time in Mexico 10 times more than we did our at-home reception and we spent like four times the amount of money on the at-home reception!!! That just really confirmed to me that a destination wedding was our best choice.

I would definitely say that I did get conflicting responses from the Miami coordinator and the resort coordinator (I felt Miami didn't always give me accurate answers, so I made sure to double-check everything with the resort).

Bree,

I am so nervous!! Ahhh, I hope this goes smoothly, I know so many of you ladies have had great experiences, but it seems like this resort is slowly slipping.

If you did a group contract, depending on how many room nights your guests booked, you get benefits based on that. See below:

5-9 rooms for 3 nights or 15 room nights = One hour cocktail function (function areas are assigned upon availability with the onsite wedding planner and confirmed upon arrival)

10-19 rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights = Two complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + one hour cockatil function (function areas are assigned upon availability with the onsite wedding planner and confirmed upon arrival)

20-24 rooms for 3 nights or 60 room nights = Four complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + 1 two hour private function

25 rooms for 3 nights or 75 room nights = Seven complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + unlimited private function (one hour cocktail + two hour dinner. MAX three hours per day) + one room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available room category up to Concierge Level.

I know we are at the 75 room nights, so we get the benefits of the best package, which is great so you dont have to pay per person to have a private event.

Let me know how the rest of the planning goes!!

She also asked about my bouquet preferences, hopefully they can order the orchids I want, she said she would let me know.
She then asked about photography - but from the get go we asked Yesenia if we could use Del Sol, she said yes, so we booked. Then this WC is like we don't allow outside vendors - i nearly flipped! after saying again I received confirmation from Yesenia back in September regarding this, she finally said okay well you will have to pay a guest fee (I already knew). Talk about giving somebody a heart attack! She was really irritated when she found out we were using them.

Basically any email we have ever spent time writing has fallen on deaf ears. She even had our wedding date wrong. I have been incredibly disappointed so far with the customer service.

oh well I'm not going to let it bother me, I just shake my head.

But I do have a question, is anybody doing a private reception? she told me its $50 per person for the private event.

Our contract is similar to yours but not quite the same.  Congratulations on such great attendance for your special day.

Hope all goes well for you!

I have my first fitting tomorrow!  It's all coming so fast now!

I heard that Palace has pulled their resorts from Expedia.  I checked to see if it really was the case and I do not see palace resorts on Expedia's site.

I thought I would give you a heads up in case you were thinking of sending your weddings guests to expedia to book their trip.

We have a GREAT relationship with Palace Resorts and they offer really great group amenities so if you are looking for a TA that specializes in destination wedding, you might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  We Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact us HERE!

If you do not know what TA you want to work with, just fill out the form Contact a Destination Wedding Specialist HERE and I will direct you to the best agent that fits your needs.

Hi Jaruszen! They are definitely continuing to book new weddings - however, in addition to the physical changes to a Hard Rock, the packages are changing (before they were Diamond/Emerald/Amethyst, etc. - now they have Colin Cowie designs to choose from - they still offer the 'complimentary' package). They also have a few changes in policies, prices, etc. so my advice - get a GREAT TA to help you with selecting the best resort for your needs and to assist with room blocks (great perks with Palace!), travel, etc.

Hope this helps!

They told me they will switch in May, but I wouldn't go until 30-60 days after that.  They just cancelled our wedding 6 days before we are scheduled to arrive there and 10 days before the wedding.  Needless to say they are having major booking issues crosssing over.  They are currently trying to find a family friendly palace resort with avaliblity for our wedding and wedding guests to stay.

Brides planning to book at the cove OR spa, give them time to settle into this change over.  I know this is just my bad luck, but seriously this planning has been a pain since the beginning and this was the cherry on top.

Wait WHAT?! They canceled your wedding???? How can they do that - I'm assuming you placed a deposit, have a contract, etc.?

That's crazy, I'm so sorry you're experiencing those issues! My contact w/the Miami office has been spotty (w/the exception of Yesenia) but other than that, I've had no issues getting everything secured w/my on site coordinator and my TA. I sure hope they don't cancel mine as we leave a week from Tuesday!

Good luck and let us know if we can help you!!

Everything is paid in full, except our add ons.  We are litterally leaving in 5 days from today.

They just called and told us we could not longer stay or have our wedding at the cove because they had someone buy out the resort.  We have a child in our party, so that automatically means no spa.  They did tell us they'll move us to another palace resort, but it's still a huge shock and very stressful.
