Very nice.

I am about 2 months out and I am trying to get all of these final things done.  Problem is I slipped while doing laundry last Weds, banged my head off of the dryer and gave myself a moderate to severe concussion :(  So, it has kind of put my life on hold.  My doctor told me that I need to not drive, go to school, coach, read or pretty much do anything until this Tuesday.  So needless to say it is pretty frustrating when I have a wedding that I need to plan.

Slowly but surely I am starting to feel a little better so I work on a little bit a day.  I finished our welcome booklet yesterday and ordered our personalized shot glasses.  Last week before I got hurt, I found my shoes and jewelery, finalized our cake with Charm City Cakes Duff is a personal friend and he is flying to Mexico with our cake), finished the programs and starfish aisle decor, recieved the cocktail shakers.  My dress is scheduled to be in within a few weeks.  My BM's dresses came in and they had their fittings last week.  I still need to order our personalized stadium cups, our OOT bags (since I pretty much have a headcount), assemble the hangover kits, find a flower for my hair, order my hanger fom etsy, decide if I want personalized cocktail stirrers for the cocktail party (I have personalized coasters already, would that be overkill?) and figure out our signature cocktails!  Plus so much more...ahhh!!!

Oh no :o(  I hope you are feeling better soon!!! That sounds awful :o(  Would you mind sharing your welcome booklet? I'm in the process of finishing mine up, but I'd love to see another example!!  --- this actually reminds me that I also need to put together my pre-travel brochures!!!  Also, where are your shot glasses from?  I'm trying to find a company that will make plastic/cheaper ones in a smaller quantities!

Jess,

We ordered our shot glasses from discountmugs.com.  We ordered 100 and it came out to about $120 afer the set-up fee and shipping, so we were happy with that!  I will upload some pictures of the welcome book let later, it is a compilation of a few other templates I found.  Love this site!

Looks like you ladies have so much done.  I'm excited for you both.  Can't to see what else you create and come up with.

Alisa - Hope you feel better.  That must have been a hard hit.  Take it easy like the doc says.

Jessica - BD Shoot!!  How exciting.  I've done P90X before and loved it but I just bought Insanity and I plan to try that out...especially 2 months before the BD shoot.

Amber -  Looks like Jessica answered your cocktail hour question.  I go thru the same thing with the OOT bags.  I see so much stuff at the Dollar Tree or $.99 store or Target that I want to get but I'm have to tell myself NO...LOL!!  I just keep a list of what I want and where to get it from for when the time finally comes.

I have learned so much from this site, but I still have so much more to learn! So this welcome booklet you're talking about, what exactly does it include? Do you include the booklet in your OOT bag and give to people when they get down there??

Jess, thanks for the info on the cocktail hour...that is reassuring!

sxcT, I have so many lists too...if I don't write it down I'll forget and I feel like there is so much to remember. Especially when people recommend things to you on here.

So I thought I had my heart set on having the harpist play at the ceremony, but the more I think about it, I'm not sure. I think you pay around $500 for an hour. But I don't understand how he will actually play for an hour at the ceremony?? The ceremonies seem rather short from what I have seen and heard, and he can really only play in the beginning, end, and in between the talking maybe. So I'm just not sure if it's worth the $$...if he truly plays for an hour then maybe I would consider. Anyone know details?

I am putting my welcome book in the OOT bag.  So far I have "about the resort", information about the restaurants on both sides, information about the other resorts they can visit, a "who's here?" section, a schedule of events, and information after the resort dollars and how they can spend them.  Not really sure what else to include, or if this is really good to have?

Amber, we are definitely having the harpist.  I found with the whole "is it worth it" thing, but we decided its our wedding day, and we want everything to be beautiful and perfect.  So that was that :o)  They will play while the guests arrive too, not just during the ceremony.  So I guess that is where all of the time comes in?

Does anyone here have feedback about any of the "resort dollar" tours??  We were curious if the ziplining was worth it.

Wow I can't wait to see the welcome book.  I might just copy the whole thing haha.  I love seeing all the examples on here but when it's someone who is going to the same resort almost all the info is the same and makes it so much more convenient.  Sorry I can't help you ladies out with anything.  You will all be long gone by the time mine comes around. :)

What time did you have the cocktail party at? Was it dark outside yet?? I'm just wondering so I can pick the best time for it...

We had our ceremony @4 and cocktail hour from 4:30-6. By 5, the sun started going down and by 6, it was already completely dark. Here is a pic from my camera. This was around 5:00-5:15.

Ziplining was worth it because it was free. When we went, it was my first time so I was excited. If we would have paid for it, I probably would have been disappointed. The park is all the way by the airport, which makes it about an hour or so ride. To be honest, ziplining was kinda boring compared to the other activities the park offers. Once you get on the bus they guy will let you know that after ziplining, you can also go horse riding, ATV riding and go on a boat ride that is super fast (i forgot the name of it). We chose to do ATV riding for like $40 or $60. I cant remember the price. The trail is pretty long and we had more fun on the quads then the lines.

If you really wanna offer your guests great ziplining or even if you wanna experience it, I would recommend Xplor. Its not very far from the hotel and you pay $100 for the day and you get an all you can eat buffet, rafting and swimming in the cenotes, AWESOME ziplining and amphibian riding. It was well worth the money and one of the best times we had in Mexico. The hotel even offers transportation. :)
