Dreams Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I have tentatively booked a date for Dreams on July 29th. It will be hot and maybe wet but who cares I have a date. I'd like to get some more tips and details of what planning you did after you booked the date. Here are some questions:

1. I think most of you booked rooms through a travel agent, what kind of rate could you secure for your guests? Did you get one rate for flight and hotel? What did you do if guests were staying a different number of nights? Did everyone use Tammy?

2. Once you had your rooms reserved then what did you negotiate with Dreams? I know some people said they gauranteed X number of rooms and then got free shuttles to town or upgrade on their room etc. I'm not sure what to ask for.

3. What else do I need to do now?

As always all of your help is greatly appreciated!

Lee

Hi Lee, try checking out this thread its for all the dreams cabo brides on the forum I'm sure a lot of your questions can be answered there

I booked online and just got a package that included air and hotel and transportation to the resort

I know that if you book ten roms at dreams you and your FI get a room upgrade to honeymoon suite

Hope this helps -

The rate you get depends on when you book and what's available at that time. Our rate when we did our room block was cheaper than what we could find elsewhere at that time. We just did our rooms, not the air (a lot of people are flying on mileage plans). Our TA did do transfers for us from the airport though. We have guests that are staying seven nights all the way down to two nights. Our room block consisted of a certain number of seven day stays and a certain number of 4 day stays. Based on availability, people could change the dates we had chosen for the room block.

All the upgrades and benes we get were listed in our contract for the room block. Almost all of them are based on availability, so there's no guarantee, but I can tell you from having visited Dreams and working with the wedding coordinator, that they seem to do everything they can to make you happy. Probably the best perk of doing the room block was that we got two free nights to do a site visit.

As for what to do next, I'd contact a TA (or Dreams) to set up your room block so that you can lock in a room rate and make sure there's availability for the number of rooms you think you will be needing.

Hi Tammy,

I have quite a logistical challenge with my wedding and wanted to speak with you to see if you would be the right TA for what we need. We have people who will be flying in from all over the country and a group of us from London. What's the best way to contact you?

Thanks,

Lee

Kellie and Sarah,

Both your emails are very helpful. Now I need to block the rooms and see what we can negotiate. Obviously, free transfers and shuttles in to town would be great. We'll see what else I can do. Obviously, the two free nights down there to check it out is pretty impossible from London. Hey, maybe I could give that to my mom and dad for a present! :-)

I'm sure I have more questions so thank you once again,

Lee
