What are you planning to do during summer 2008?

Hello everyone !

 

I was just wondering what you are planning to do over the summer...

 

I am a grade 11 teacher so I get the whole summer off ! ! ! My plans for the summer is to relax AND NOT SPEND ANY MONEY

 

Tomorrow, I am going to buy a few books; that is what I am plannign to do over the summer. My kids are now 5 and 6 so they are able to take care of themselves for more than 5 minutes ! That way I can read by the pool while they play outside.

Planning a wedding is so much fun ! That is what I did last summer since I got married last December. I was always logged on to this site (actually addicted to it ! ! )

Hmmm- we have a boat and if weather cooperates this summer, I hope to be out every weekend soaking up the rays and wakeboarding. Hopefully we can plan a nice camping trip too- we didn't get to last summer.

 

I also plan to read a few books. I read The Other Boleyn Girl while on our wedding/honeymoon vacation and I loved it. Now I'm reading all the other books by the same author.

i'm a teacher too. as soon as school lets out, i go into summer mode, where i don't sleep at night, and occasionally take naps during the day. i plan on getting a lot of stuff done around the house. i have a few rooms to repaint, and i promised my best friend i'd paint her kitchen. i also joined the pool club, so i plan on relaxing there and getting my money's worth. this morning, i was at home depot at 6 to buy stuff to de-rust and repaint our front railing. i worked for a few hours, but then the sun was too hot so i came inside and napped.

this is my second summer not 'working.' last summer i tutored a lot, and planned a wedding, and set up my new classroom in a new district. this summer i'm only tutoring a little.

as you can tell by my rambling post, i'm often bored.

I'm jealous of the teachers who have the summers off. Maybe I should look into a career change? I won't be doing much of anything this summer since most of my time off is being used for the wedding, as well as, all my money! Ha ha!
