I feel your pain! As DW brides we have to deal with so much stuff that seems to be out of our control since we can't just show up at their office and make them answer our questions.

Tammy mentioned getting an outside WC. Is this a common thing to do? Does it help to have someone there to stay on Fabio or Nancy? Does anyone have any recommendations? Costs?

Be sure you check with the hotel about outside vendor fees. I have read several posts about the $500 fees Karisma hotels charge for outside vendors. I don't know what type of vendors these apply to but I don't want you to get another unwelcomed surprise from them.

I have also seen several people comment that they have been able to get these fees waived.

HIGHLY recommended!!!!! I was soooo frusterated with the AI WCs that I switched venues all together... but I really think hiring an outside WC that lives in the area (fluent in English is helpful if you don't speak Espanol like me) that can be your legs and voice. It is worth what you will spend in GOLD. Meaning a lot more enjoyable and much less stressful!
MY WC is $1200. Well spent so far, Im not getting married for another 4 1/2 months but just the response time alone is worth it! Plus they can usually find deals and make sure everything is in place day of instead of that being your job!

I would be really careful about the outside vendor fees. I know it may seem cheaper to bring in people for your chairs and your flowers but if you read your contract (mine is for AZUL Sensatori) it says that you have to pay $500 for outside vendors.

 

I did get my outside photographer approved, but other gals are saying that Fabio wouldn't approve an outside DJ. I would just hate for you to do all of this work finding outside vendors and then Fabio tells you no, they can't come in.
