Help with Engagement Party

Ok all you crafty and creative types, I need some help with ideas for our engagement party. It's next weekend and we are throwing a Jamaican themed BBQ. We will be serving jerk chicken as the main dish.

 

I'm looking for fun creative ideas for food and/or decor for the party. It's outdoors. I keep looking online and running into Tiki and luau stuff. Hula skirts and Tiki gods aren't Jamaican, so they don't work. Help. I don't want cheap or cheezy party store junk. I don't mind putting in a little time into making it myself...I just need ideas. Anyone got any?
