Ceremony timing and music

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at ROR and was wondering if I could get an idea of a ceremony timeline? I would like to know if you planned your ceremony and the different parts as you would a typical ceremony or did you go with the resort's plan. I can't think of what to add beyond sand ceremony. Any ideas?

Also, when planning your music, how much time did you allow for different components? We have a song for guests arriving, walking down the aisle, signing, and rum punch. But I am not sure how much time to allow for each piece.

We only added a Hand Ceremony and kept everything else short and simple with teh resorts ceremony wording. 10-minutes tops and the longest part was the reading of the Hand Ceremony.

I had different CD's for each component of the wedding (Pre-Ceremony ... GM get in place ... BM walk down aisle ... My song -- then as soon as we said "I DO" another CD for us to walk out to and then continuing w/ music for mingling during pics.)

However, the Pre-Ceremony music got all screwed up and played at the wrong time so they had to restart the song for BM's to walk down the aisle. My suggestion would be to have a friend run the CD player b/c the resort just didn;t quite comprehend what I wanted and so it didn't go as planned, but it was still totally fine and wonderful.

At the reception, we wanted to cut the cake to Adam Sandler's "I Wanna Grow Old W You" but we had too many songs leading up to it and it didn't jive, so that song never even got played, which sucked, but oh well, no on knew but us...

I had planned all my songs but the CD was lost so we went with the resorts music. Honestly I don't remember it and the ceremony was nice and it was about 15 minutes. Very quick and to the point. I thought about doing the sand ceremony but couldn't figure it out logistically so we didn't do it. I think it was nice and smooth and wouldn't change a thing.
