Thought about making my entrance to a cut version of Stevie Wonder's "You and I" but not sure if that would be cheesy....or worse, too long! Nothing worse than stalling down the aisle to make sure the lyrics time out. Then as we exit the sky deck, I think we might do Stevie's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". It's such an upbeat happy song, we love Stevie and it suits the occasion...but I am hesitant...too many lyrics? What did you do? Thanks!

I walked down to Alicia Keys "If I ain't got you" - Its a 3+ min song so all of the BMs walked down the aisle to that also.  I loved it.  If you are taking pictures wherever your wedding ceremony is after the ceremony (which everyone does) - you need AT LEAST 4-5 songs AFTER your processional song for when people are milling around.  I would do more like 10 songs.  I had Stevie as well as our Processional Song (which was "Hay I love you" or something like that by Michael Franti I think....?).  They put my CD on repeat - which was awesome to have music playing during the pictures part - but after the 3rd time of hearing "signed sealed delivered" my brother went and turned off the music - LOL.

I thought I had a lot of things nailed down and when I get an official quote had to make some changes. In fact, I am still working out the centerpieces. And my final payment is technically due tomorrow.

Ok, so for you ladies who have already been married, please let me know what I need to be working on! I think next step is picking music, writing the ceremony and figuring out seating arrangmenets. Here is what I HAVE done in the past few weeks:

Great job so far Amanda!  I can't wait to see your wedding pics :-)

So, in regards to what you are deciding on now and paying for......  Make sure you bring down color copies of everything you have on your spreadsheet.  I think it works like this: you give your WC a picture of what you want and they use it to get a price quote from lomas.  I do not think that picture goes to your Lomas WC at AS.  Soooooo make sure you have pictures of your cake, flowers, table set up, etc etc etc to give to your WC.  And while you are at it, make 2 copies - 1 for Lomas WC and 1 for Azul WC.

Music - make sure you burn CDs for all of your music.  I would also burn them for the music your DJ is supposed to play, just in case they do not have your first dance song.  They had everything for me correct, but I wanted to be on the safe side.  I also came down with all of the playlists on my iPod so if worst came to worst, I could give my iPod to someone.

We actually created our seating arrangements in Mexico.  We oragnized the name cards and gave them to the WCs at our wedding meeting.

Ladies - I leave for our long awaited honeymoon Saturday!  I am sooooo excited!  Excellence PLaya Mujeres here we come!!!

GREAT review Danielle!!!  You hit the nail on the head when you said that as soon as you get down there you'll never hear the word "No."  So true!

Honestly you can never go wrong with Stevie Wonder no matter how long the song is!  But for something a little different I like Catpower's cover of "Sea of Love", only 2 minutes long or so, check it out on itunes...

Great review! And thanks for the little insight about bringing your own centerpieces and the price they charged you to set it all up! I was thinking about bringing my own :)

I bought centerpieces for 10 tables and paid $70 all together.  The cheapest centerpiece the resort offered was $50 each.  I thought that was just too much.

This will actually be my second trip J  We went in March before signing the contract.  Since we joined the Exotic Travelers thing, they were running a 50% off special, so we couldnâ€t pass it up!  Our excuse this time is we are bringing my fianceâ€s parents, and they NEED to see it ahead of time.  Haha.

Surely there will be a wedding that weekend, so Iâ€ll just keep my eyes out.  I was lucky enough to see 2 beach ceremonies and a zavas plaza reception when I was there in March.  Donâ€t worry…I kept a far distance, so I wouldnâ€t be one of those lurkers! J  I think the girl who had the zavas reception used to be involved on the forum…said it was too cold at night or something?

Danielle – Great review!  Thank you so much for sharing these details.

Ladies,

My TA has me all freaked out because she keeps talking about how the resort is almost fully booked etc.  (prices are skyrocketing and so on).  I know it's the long weekend when we are getting married, so this may possibly happen, but we're still 9 months out?!?!?!?!  It can't be THAT full already?!?!  We had a guaranteed group rate available already and while many people took advantage of that I still have lots of guests saying they plan to come (but aren't ready to book so far in advance).  I wasn't planning on even getting the invites out until October!

So,  what do I do if the resort is fully booked but we still have people wanting to come?  Does anyone know if guests at the Azul Beach can come and use the Sensatori's facilities?  And do you have to pay the guest fee (of $80 or whatever it is) for people from another Karisma property to come to the wedding?  I'm not too worried if I know that, if the AS sells out, then people could book at the AB or another El Dorado resort and still come spend time with us and be at the wedding itself.

Anyone have any insight to share?
