We are thinking of maybe going to Cozumel for the second week...but still totally up in the air....
Like a few others we're planning on staying for an extra 5 days or so at another resort for our honeymoon. We want to switch to an adults only environment closer to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen, where we can have a different experience.

Our wedding is right at the beginning of our week pretty much (arrive Wed. wedding Friday) so we'll have had a few days after to play and celebrate with family and friends and then we'll head off for some US time.

Also, thanks for the packages info - looks like there's more to both the pearl and the free package. I'm a bit worried we won't "qualify" for the free package - but we'll see what they say. I've asked Carolina for information on it.

There was an Abba tribute band playing which was hysterical but everyone was dancing.

I LOVE this idea for a "rehearsal" type night before the wedding meet-up.

By the way ladies - I found my dress!! Got it on the first day shopping! I'm sooo excited. It's not ANYTHING like I had envisioned I would want however, so now I'm starting to rethink the whole image of the day/BM dresses etc.

I'm over the moon in love with it tho.

So thrilled for you! Can't wait to see what it looks like. I did the same thing, bought something COMPLETELY different from what I had envisioned! But you just know when you try it on :)

We moved to an adults only place too, it was nice :)

That night was the best idea ever, it was one of the most fun and everyone got to know each other so there were no strangers or awkwardness at my wedding, I highly recommend it!

How exciting! Let's see it! I too bought the opposite of what I thought I wanted, thank goodness for having an open mind, right?

OK, so I finished my planning thread. It doesn't really flow but whatever, I could only look at it for so long - plus I wanted to get it done before I got my pro pics - b/c then I have to write the wedding review. Phew so much to do :)

So, here it is:

What a fantastic planning thread! Everything looked so gorgeous Amy - from your gown right down to the favour bags. Loved it. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

As for my dress I'm not going to post anything about it (I fear curious eyes might lurk wink.gif ). But, I'll say it is NOT AT ALL what I thought I would fall in love with.

I'm a pretty simple and classic dresser - I like traditional looks, clean lines generally. Being a lawyer I wear a LOT of basics - black, grey, white. (I tend to say that my personality is loud enough, so my clothes don't have to be). So, I always envisioned a very simple, beachy dress - either clean lines and somewhat form fitting or flowy and light. And I always pictured ivory.

This dress is none of that and I love it! It's beautiful and sexy and has an element of just fun to it. I'm so happy about it. Anyways, you ladies will have to wait with the rest of them to see it - I will of course post pics after the day.

Welcome. I hate to say it, but I second the comment that it is TOTALLY worth taking the time to go back to at least about page 400 and read through the threat. Even if you just skim it - a LOT of things are covered.

The brides on here are an amazing support and have a wealth of information. Welcome to the group. cheer2.gif

AmandaMarie - Yes, I think Xmas lights would look really nice at Zavaz Plaza. I think they'd probably put out the same amount of light as the paper lanterns.

Chong - Yes, we did pics prior to the ceremony. I had EM start at 3:30 to do bridal portraits and then I met DH at the walkway in front of the ocean at 4:15 p.m. We did photos of just the two of us from 4:15 to 5 p.m. The ceremony started at 5:30 p.m. It was perfect for us as I wanted pics of us before we were hot, crying, etc. It was nice to have the time to just focus on ourselves as once the wedding was over I was concerned about everyone else. I liked the stress free environment of doing it before hand.

I'm not sure who initially asked the question about moving resorts, but we got to AS on a Sunday with my parents and one really close couple. More guests started arriving Tues. through Thurs. and our wedding was Friday. Sunday everyone left and we also moved resorts on Sunday to Le Blanc in Cancun for seven nights. We were worried about not liking the second resort as much as AS but it ended up being perfect for us. It was nice to have a change of pace and a change in the food. AS food is great, but after seven days we were ready for something else. Le Blanc is a lot more chill, serene and relaxing. We loved it so much we've already gone back for another week.
