What kind of flowers go in those centerpieces with the water? Are they silk?

That's a good question, honestly they look real but who knows! I'm gonna have to do some research and test it at home because if I can buy silk stems and put them in water I'll do that for sure.

 

Meghan - on another note, how did you get so many people booked SO early? I have more than half of the people not yet booked, telling me I'm nuts to have them book so early. I keep telling them that they don't understand and this isn't that early... so frustrating.

I sent out my save the dates by email really early (last october....about 20 months before my wedding), and in the email, I told people that the resort is booking up really fast, and in order to get the best rate (we have a locked in rate that is really good, and if the rates go down, they will honour the cheaper rates to the whole group) and avoid limited room availability, it is best to book asap. a few months later, I sent out another email reminding everyone, and I just sent another email out last month letting people know that we have almost 40 booked and we encourage everyone else to book if they are interested in coming (again, reiterating that if they wait too long, the resort may be full or they may no longer have their first choice for room availability)

You have to have a magic touch. I sent my save the dates out in June and we are telling people to book my Sept. 7th. The only people who are booked so far in our group is my FI and I and maybe like 6 other people. The funny thing is lots of people have bought their plane tickets already just not made their deposit to the travel agent. We sent another email out today, so I hope reminds people to hurry and book.
