If any future brides have not booked a photographer, please consider Pixan Photography. Here are some of my favorite sneak peeks and i cannot sing him enough praises. post-278682-143656744831_thumb.jpgpost-278682-143656745603_thumb.jpgpost-278682-143656746436_thumb.jpgpost-278682-143656747342_thumb.jpgpost-278682-143656748657_thumb.jpgpost-278682-143656749737_thumb.jpg

I think his packages are reasonably priced. Much better than most i researched. And if i could do it one more time, i would have hired him the entire wedding week

re: cocktail party between ceremony and reception

Hi

I am having a cocktail hour between my ceremony and reception.  It may be 'overkill' but personally, having been to a few dws I like to provide a way for the guests to stay together and have something to do. I have been to one where there was nothing planned in between and many guests stood around on the beach taking pictures which kind of interfered with what the photographers were trying to do and was distracting for the wedding party.  I also worried about people wandering away or back to their rooms. I also wanted to help guests stay together.  Because not everyone knows each other I think this is a good way to keep it inclusive and keep the group feeling of the wedding day intact.  Just some things that I thought of :)

Thank you all for your tips.  I spoke with the WC in Miami and she said we can squeeze a cocktail hour in (phew).

One more question (ahaha ya right)...we're looking to have a "beach themed" 60+ person Welcome Dinner on the beach with tiki torches and a bon fire.   Can anyone recommend a location at the resort that would offer a large flat beach area for us to do this on? Are Beach Building 3 and Palapa Yoga our only real beach options - or am I missing one?  Any advice on what works/worked best is greatly appreciated.

Also - at the private events, did you have to rent the amplifier for music or was music provided? Did you have to rent the amplifier for both a 2 hour cocktail and then another one for a 4 hour private event?

Thanks-

Abbie
