Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done or is anyone thinking about doing a candy bar display setup during the reception? I was wondering if anyone had any luck with bringing their own candies (i.e. chocolate melting, etc.). Thanks!

Hey everyone!

We are confirmed for June 21, 2014! Any other brides that weekend?

I am starting to think about decorations-- what to bring, what to buy from lomas, etc.

We are having our reception at Plaza Zavaz. Did any of y'all bring Christmas lights to decorate the gazebo with? If so, how much of a set up fee did they charge you?

ps- Thanks for all the help with all of your posts. I've been reading them like crazy for the last few months and it has really helped me fight against "the fear of the unknown..."

Hi Tami! Welcome to the forum welcome.gif The set up fee will depend a lot on how much decor and set up is required by the staff, as well as your guest numbers. Usually expect it to be about $5/guest...but again it's not set in stone and will be decided by the onsite wedding coordinator at the Sensatori once you arrive.

Also not sure who you were trying to ask about the photographer....there are plenty to choose from! We flew one down from home with us, his name was Taylor Jackson.

Help!!

Hey sensatori brides!

So, I am basically freaking out....my wedding is in March of 2014. We originally blocked 25 rooms. We already have 31 rooms booked.

I just got a call from my wedding planner letting us know that the resort is totally sold out during our wedding! We haven't even sent our invitations yet (they are currently being printed). We also don't even have all of our bridal party or family booked. Our wedding is over 6 months away....I can't believe the resort is already full! Has this happened to anyone else?

I know we could probably get another room block at a near by resort, but the day pass fee is $79 on the day of the wedding and $99 for any other days. It doesn't appear that Karisma will waive this since it specifically notes that you have to pay the fee even if the guest is staying at another Karisma resort.

I don't even know what to do, and like I said, I am totally freaking out!

Anyone have any advice or has anyone else dealt with this?

Hi Linds,

Are you hosting a private dinner/reception by any chance? If so, then there is no charge for the day pass on the wedding day, provided a certain % of your guests are at AS (I think it's like 80%).

The other option is to have your wedding planner/travel agent call and talk to Karisma about options if they book with another resort, and try to get that day pass fee waived given they are in a sell-out situation AND folks are at another Karisma resort. I'd guess you'll need to have them push really hard, and involve the management at Karisma to work on this.

The room count is a delicate balance with a destination wedding - estimate too high, and you could be responsible for empty rooms. Estimate too low, and/or folks don't book within the window given, and you run the risk of the situation you're currently in.

Good luck resolving the issue!

Hello, My wedding is June 6, 2014 so you are just a couple of weeks later. I still haven't heard from anyone on my exact date. I'm planning to bring Christmas lights and had planned to bring a lot of other items for decorations like chair sashes and other linens. I'm re-thinking that plan after reading the other comments. Maybe they are right since I've just started ordering stuff for OOT bags for 45-50 people. Welcome to AS Brides Forum. Jenny

Hi Allie,

Thanks so much for your help! I REALLY appreciate it.

We are hosting 3 private events, a welcome reception, dinner and wedding reception.

I am not sure if we will have 80% staying...we have about 65 people booked, but based on the turnout we already got, we think we are going to have 100+. I will try to work with our planner to see what she can do.

Thanks so much for your advice!
